A call goes out that the Lady Windamyr von Hadley is willing to pay good (not great) coin for those who can find her precious Pookems and Snookems. She invites any interested parties to come to her address at 11:30am where she will explain where she last saw her precious PSW.

When you arrive, an austere butler guides you in from the front door to the parlor with a rather unpleasant expression. There Lady Windamyr von Hadley sits (as standing would be rather difficult for a lady of her weight err bearing). Thick gaudy pieces of jewelry adorn her fat fingers and plump wrists. She sips her tea, nodding at the arrivals until five past the appointed time at which point in a rich voice she begins in an animated and emotional manner, "Now DARLINGS, as I have stated I have lost my precious Pookems, Snookems, and Wookems. They mean the world to me and I very much want them back. I was out for a walk with them when they saw something NASTY and took off after it down the storm drain outside my house, that was yesterday and they haven't been back since. Please DARLINGS you MUST find them."

As she speaks the butler quietly hands out servings of tea with an almost souless expression, seeming largely unphased by his Lady's tone of voice.

The butler then whispers something in the woman's ear. She blinks briefly, "Oh yes.. Wookems wasn't feeling well that's right..." she looks back to the group. "Are there any questions Darlings?"


Kroth is...well, yet again he is thinking that Angoron is laughing at this whole situation, likely Tarien set this up. Kroth doesn't ask any questions, letting the others deal with that part, if they do.


Belladona raises her hand, "Yes what kind of animals are your pookems and snookems? And did you lose Wookems or is he or she still here?" She asks curiously as it's be good to know what they are after.' Samafa yawns a bit as she's laying down.

Amithil follows along, cloak pulled off and olver her shoulder once inside. When Belladonna starts to speak, she listens and nods, letting her do her thing.


Kroth frowns a bit at the information, but hey, he said he would come, and here he is. Kroth is not going to walk away just cause it seems silly, besides, maybe these are dire cats or something, or...well...whatever.


<OOC> Bahken says, "Just repeat to yourself, 'the money is good' :P"

Belladona ahs a little bit, "And how big are these cats. Are they as big as my companion Samafa?" She motions to the lioness, "Or are they regular house cat size?" She asks curiously as she wants to get all the information she can.

Amithil hums, and then looks up to ask "The cats all went into the sewers? Cats usually aren't pack animals. Interesting they'd all go to the same place."

Belladona is a large oruch woman standing 6'2" and weighing close to 258 lbs. She looks to be in her mid 20's. She is a woman of generous proportions, but has a very athletic build. She is a curvaceous woman with dark green skin. Belladona has strong arms and legs. She has two large canines that jut up from the rows of her sharp teeth. Her hair is dark brown with highlights of red.

Belladona is wearing a suit of fine hide armor that hugs her form. It has a nice fur lined collar that follows the hem down her décolletage. She has on a pair of protective bracers on her wrists and a pair of thigh high boots. The top of the boots is lined with fur as well. On her back is a pack and she has a large wooden shield. She keeps plenty of weapons with her. On her right hand is gauntlet with 12 inch steel claws, one for each finger including her thumbs and on her left hand she usually carries a heavy wooden shield.

"Oh NO darlings, they aren't LIONS they're smaller!" she smiles warmly. But the butler, standing behind her seems to swallow hard and looking at the group, puts his hand down about his thigh height, so... not a house cat.

Lady Windamyr turns to Amithil, "Well I was walking them at the same time and they SAW something.." she leans back and says softly because of the scandal that might becaused by such a revalation coming from HER storm drain, "I think it might have been a RAT.." she shivers.

<OOC> Bahken says, "Oh, and can I have passive perceptions please?"

GAME: Kroth rolls perception: (1)+7: 8 (EPIC FAIL)


Kroth is obviously distracted now that he knows its a very big cat, though not a lion.


GAME: Belladona rolls perception: (19)+10: 29

<OOC> Bahken says, "Lol, passive doesn't require the roll, I just need the bonus.. It's assuming you take a 10 unless you say otherwise"

GAME: Amithil rolls perception: (15)+3: 18

<OOC> Amithil says, "oh I have no idea"

<OOC> Bahken says, "Yours is 13, Bellas is 20, and Kroth's is 17"

<OOC> Bahken says, "anyway, continue on :)"

Amithil nods. "I see. So they're... large. I'm going to assume that whatever they saw was not a... " She them mouths the word 'RAT', before going on "But something big enough that a team of good sized bobcats or so would be interested in teaming up on. This is good to know, thank you."

Belladona nods a little bit, "Okay they aren't lions, but are they tigers or cheetahs?" She asks as you never know with the rich excentric types and she looks towards the butler. "Are they male and female?" She asks curiously.

Lady Windamyr beams at Amithil, "So you'll do it? You'll find my pookems and snookems?" she asks looking quite happy. The butler meanwhile shudders like he will be ill.. more so than his mistress did at the thought of a rat.

Lady Windamyr turns to Belladona and taps one of her chins, "I think Leopards would be the closest term to them and they're a rowdy bunch of boys." The butler remains silent though, his jaw set as he refused to give a comment, trying to make his eyes lose focus.


Kroth has no comment, instead watching the Butler just in case the man is about to pass out.


Amithil sighs and mutters quietly to herself, then adds a bright smile "I'll do it."

<OOC> Belladona says, "It's okay waste all your good rolls. ;)"

Belladona nods, "Thank you we know what to look for now. Do they have collars on them?" She hopes there aren't that many leopards in the sewers.

The woman continues to beam, "Yes, there names are etched right on.. Now off with you!" she waves her fat fingers at you, still smiling though. The butler is grinding his teeth but moves to escort the three of you out.


Kroth rises to his feet, having heard everything, but still somewhat unsure of the whole situation. He moves with the others to leave, wondering a moment if the butler will say something when they are away.


Amithil nods to the woman, and is ready to head on out, following along with the butler, as she tilts her head and considers how you find a moving target in a large city's sewer system.

Belladona nods politely to Lady Windamyr, "Thank you for your time Lady Windamyr. We'll return with your cats to you, although you really shouldn't have wild animals as pets." She looks to Samafa, "Come on Samafa."

"Oh Darling, they're not WILD..." but her voice fades as the butler guides you. The butler seems to be biting his tongue as he escorts you out of the manor to the sidewalk indicating the storm drain with a loathsome nod. There is a latch on it but no lock. it appears to be accessed from time to time for maintenance.


Kroth moves over to the drain, opening it up and peering inside, his darkvision likely granting him a much better look than others might have.


Amithil shakes her head. "Assuming they're uninjured, these animals are going to be stalking the whole sewer system. We could chase them forever and never catch them, without a plan."

Other storm drains down the street provide patches of light, but between them it can get quite dark. To Kroth's eyes there doesn't seem to be anything unusual though, nothing scurrying or weird.. There IS a bit of a smell, but it fits perfectly with what one would expect of a sewer...

<OOC> Belladona says, "Can I roll some knowledge/nature on the best way to find them."

<OOC> Bahken says, "Sure"

GAME: Belladona rolls knowledge/nature: (7)+9: 16 Long distance to Belladona: Bahken Well, if they stayed out of the water, there's likely to be filth down there that will work for tracking as well as any dirt path. That would require the survival skill.. As a druid (and I'm not that familiar with their capabilities) but asking a local rat might also be doable.. and your companion I believe has scent but you might not have the 'trick' to get your companion to hunt for you...

Belladona pages: She does have scent and the trick of tracking.

From afar, Belladona nods.

Belladona hmms a little bit as she looks over the sewer gate, "Hold on a second. I'm going to go back to the house and see if they have something with the scent of the animals on it for Samafa to track."

Amithil nods. "That's a good plan. Being able to track their movements would make a difference."

Kroth grunts "Though I'm not sure how tracking with smell works in...well, there." he points down at the sewer.

The butler is still standing by. He gives a deep sigh and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small rag. "I used this rag on them often.. it should have their scent.." he says offering it over to Belladona.

Belladona nods her thanks for the butler, "Thank you. We'll get them back." She promises as she heads back over and she offers it to Samafa to get a scent, "Track."

Long distance to Belladona: Bahken nods, "Samafa will likely hate you, it IS smelly down there.. but the smell isn't the same.."

Amithil stands by, watching Samafa, seeing if there's any meaningful tracking that's going to happen, or if Kroth is right and the scent is lost at the grate or soon after.

The butler hardly looks pleased, but Samafa has the scent. He steps back for fear that he might be asked to help lower the lion down into the sewer.

<OOC> Bahken says, "Not with the gate open. if it was closed big people wouldn't fit"

<OOC> Bahken says, "Does she have acrobatics?"

<OOC> Belladona says, "She does"

Amithil gets an idea while the training happens. She flat out turns to the Butler, and tilts her head. "Did you have any role in these events, leading to the pets going missing?"

GAME: Belladona rolls 1d20+7: (19)+7: 26

<OOC> Bahken nods

Samafa growls a little bit at Belladona as she knows they have to go down in the sewer. Belladona gives her a look, "Come on track them." The lioness jumps down into the sewer and Belladona follows after her, "We are tracking."

The Butler draws himself up to his full height, giving an offended air, "I'll have you know I am absolutely loyal to my lady.. ABSOLUTELY..." he says sharply.

<OOC> Amithil says, "I don't have any... acrobatics sorts of things."

<OOC> Bahken says, "There's a ladder for you two legged folk"

<OOC> Amithil says, "okay"

<OOC> Bahken says, "Not saying cats CAN'T use the ladder it's just.. weird for them climbing down it"

<OOC> Bahken coughs and switches Bahken in that pose to 'The Butler'


Kroth will follow the cat down, but he uses the ladder, then looks around when they get to the bottom. He pulls out some brass knuckles, slipping them on his hands. "I have heard things live down here, so we need to be careful."


GAME: Belladona refreshes spells.

Amithil nods to the butler. "I just had to make sure that it wasn't your loyalty to her that caused you to lure dangerous animals a way from her." If he doesn't react meaningfully to that, she'll go down the ladder and follow the others.

<OOC> Bahken says, "Amithil give me a diplomacy check"

GAME: Amithil rolls diplomacy: (2)+2: 4

The butler reacts, he nearly spits on Amithil, "HOW DARE YOU! ACCUSE ME!!" It takes him a moment to regain his composure before he pivots on his heel and returns to the house, still shaking he's so angry.

Amithil shrugs and shakes her head as she climbs down the ladder. "I work for her, not him."

Within the sewers there's a layer of filth on the walkway by the main sewer flow. As mentioned the smell is everything you'd expect from a sewer. Belladona can see as well as Kroth, but Amithil experiences moments of near blindness at the points between the light that drifts in from the storm grates above. Samafa leads the party on. There actually isn't much too see at the moment, though Bella and Kroth do notice some graffiti in some fo the dark spots, "For a good time go to the xxxillegiblexxx" "Kroshanks waz hier" Finally the group approaches a section of the sewers where there's a fork.. no stormgrate above it makes it unpleasantly dark for amithil, and Bella notices spiderwebs around the area, more than normal.


Kroth frowns, looking at the lion, then the paths, he simply waits to see if the lion knows which way to go.


Amithil coughs "Take it slow. I'm having to follow you all by sound half the time."

Belladona hears the yelling from above the sewers and looks at Amithil as she comes down, "Everything all right up there?" She hmms, "Oh do you need some light?"

<OOC> Bahken blinks yelling???

<OOC> Bahken says, "Yeah, Bella what happened there?"

<OOC> Amithil says, "oh I get it hang on let me pose"

<OOC> Belladona says, "I meant the arguement between Amithil and the butler"

Amithil nods. "The butler was unhappy with my questioning. I could use light, but I Wasn't sure if it was safe to use fire fo rsuch a light in here."

<OOC> Bahken says, "Ahh, I'll wait for the rp to catch up with the fork in the path"

<OOC> Amithil says, "I'd thought it was, guess not :D"

Amithil pages: Urgh this is going way, way, way aslower than I thought. I have to go in a half hour, for a 45 minute trip home.

Long distance to Amithil: Bahken nods, "Thanks for the warning..

You paged Kroth with 'When we're confirmed there. and you move forward to look down the paths, you notice two big bulbous bodies on the webbing from the ceiling. one down each path'


Kroth looks back at Amithil, and shrugs, "I do not have light." When they move ahead, to look down the paths, the frowns, "There is something on the cieling, each direction, it could be spiders."

Belladona nods, "It might be, I don't carry any torches or sunrods with me, I do have a spell that can produce flame." She shakes her head, "Ugh spiders."

Amithil stays firmly on the walkway, as well as she can, not taking any chances about going toward any edges, erring on the side of caution with visibility limited. "Well i'm going to light a torch if nobody objects."

There's a hiss and then a gooey, silky blast hits Kroth and Samafa binding them in webbing.. Both now have trouble moving, though they might be able to burst or slip free..

<OOC> Bahken says, "same as a net, -2 to attacks, -4 to dex, and half speed movement (no charge or run)"

Amithil lights a torch. When it comes to doing something about the possible spiders well, there's not a lot she can do with a torch in her hand. Then again, there's not a lot she could do without a torch in her hand, so, best see what's going on and wait to cast.

<OOC> Amithil says, "Basically um, I'm kind of assuming my bow is two handed I apologize if my assumption was wrong :D"

Amithil pages: ok I have to start packing to go home. I trust you with my character in the meantime. Imma gonna cast protection from evil, then I should be able to draw and magic missile from my level 1 wand accordingly. I can use up the charges when I return in 45 minutes. Don't mind do you?

Kroth struggles with the sticky entanglement, and when the spider closes in he tries to slam a fist into it, and manages to actually wound the thing somewhat. Granted, it likely would have been a better hit if he had not be covered in webs.

The spiders react violently, legs chittering and mandibles darting forward. The one by Samafa is unable to catch the whily cat, but the webbing does its work on Kroth as pincers bite through his cloths and shoot that vile venom into his veins.. weakening him..

GAME: Bahken rolls 2: (6)+2: 8 Amithi l is all protected, and seeing spiders now, she yanks her wand out, easy to ready being small is it is. With an urgen tpoint, and an arcane mutter, she unleashes a small bot of raw arcane force to hit a spider.

Belladona tries not to hit Samafa with her claws and totally misses the spider. Samafa doesn't as she tears into the spider and kills it dragging it down off the ceiling as it dies.

GAME: Amithil casts Protection From Evil. Caster Level: 2 DC: 16

GAME: Amithil used a Wand of Magic Missile.

The final spider reals under the imacts of the fist and missile. It doesn't seek to win at this point, it doesn't even have the coherency to run away, it is in a mad panic by the creatures it mistakenly attacked and bites wildly at its still webbed prey which it misses.

Kroth finally gets another good hit and crushes the spider enough that it stops moving, well, its twitching, but its no longer trying to bite him.

The last spider twitches as falls to the floor and remains on its backa s its legs curl in towards its abdomenon. There's a moment of silence after the battle where very little moves.

Amithil sighs once the spiders are gone, and puts her wand away. "That was easier than it could have been. I suppose... I don't know... if they came this way they were probably webbed. A careful, sharp knife is going to be needed here." She then starts walking carefully, torch up, looking for a possible whoopsy woogums sized thing to carefully cut open with her gobling army knife.


Kroth takes some time to pull web from his body, wiping it on the walls as he tries to get clear, he grimaces as he works.


Belladona ughs a little bit as she checks over Samafa for any wounds. She looks over to Kroth, "Are you hurt?" She asks as she moves to help clear him and she looks around, "Are there any large coccoons?"

There are some decent sized cocoons and you find TWO desecated dire rats.. but no cats the size the butler suggested. Samafa seems to have the trail again, but like a loyal comanion is waiting for Bella to look over Kroth.


Kroth frowns, "I am not hurt badly, there is poison, but it is not strong. I can manage."


Amithil nods, and returns toward the rest. "Nothing. We'd best keep tracking before the trail is washed away."

Belladona nods, "If it does let me know I can try to help." She moves over towards Samafa and the pair start to track again.

As you move past the webbed area, Amithil's torch falls on the things Bella and Kroth have seen coming well ahead of her.. dead rats.. not desicated.. destroyed, ripped to pieces. <OOC> Bahken says, "Who ever wants give me a +roll nature"

Kroth nods, looking down the different directsion, then to the lion. "So where next?" He does notice the rats, but figures the Lion can track still.

She turns on occasion and all along there are the dead rats as you enter a long tunnel. Towards the end of it is another turn and Samafa continues on. Kroth is content to follow the Lion for now, he grimaces as he moves along, a little annoyed by the whole spider poison thing.

The first cat snarls and tries to jump on Belladona ineffectually, but the other launches itself at here and though its claws drag uselessly against her armor, its fangs grab her arm and pull her into it's grasp.

Belladona changes into a tiger to try to get more strength to get this mechanical leopard off of her or to reverse the grapple in a moment. That's moot as lioness manages to damage the mechanical leopard enough to shut it down.

As one machine falls the tireless other machine (still dinged from Samafa's first attack) continues to flail wildly at the other cat.


Kroth moves up, throwing some quick punches and kicks at the machine, but once more the effect of metal vs flesh is apparent, as the oruch fails to show any effect on the thing. The oruch growls in frustration.

Belladona leaps up onto her four feet and she manages to land a bite, but her other attcks fail. Samafa goes to attack as well, but this one is made out of sterner stuff as her attacks glance off. GAME: Bahken rolls 6: (13)+6: 19

Bahken is being battered from all sides.. It doesn't seem to think much of it though, even as the damage slows it down, it continues to fight.. must be nice not to feel pain.

It just isn't the Oruchs day, he keeps punching and kicking and trying to damage the construct, but is really unable to do anything to it. Perhaps its cause its a construct, or perhaps its just a bad day for the Oruch.


Amithil once more calls upon her wand and a bolt flies from it... It's kind of puny though, but it DOES hit for something.

Belladona isn't too used to being in a tiger form yet and she misses on all her attacks. Samafa does a little better as she slashes at leopard with her claw and manages to hit it.

The machine is so dinged and dented it's a wonder it still functions, but it continues to try to fight it's ARCH RIVAL the REAL flesh and blood lion Samafa, but fails coming out the worse in their last exchange.

Kroth finally manages to land a solid attack among the rapid fire shots of punches and kicks. The brass knuckles clang off the construct and it staggers back and finally stops moving.

Belladona watches the beast stop moving and her form shimmers as she turns back into an ourch. "Ugh there is a reason why I don't like magetech." She winces a bit as she goes to pick up one, "Come on let's get out of here."

Carrying the machines out relatively uneventful, though uncomfortable as they are kind of heavy and the fangs and claws can poke unpleasantly.. still better immobile. The butler opens the door and looks at them sighing, "Oh, you found them..." and leads you into the foyer where Lady Windamyr sits. "You FOUND my Pookems and Snookems!" she yells and rises on thick wobbly legs. "Oh NO! What happened?" she asks looking worried.

"Doubtlessly whatever kept them in the sewers madam.." the butler says. And the woman nods, "Yes.. you're quite right.. Oh well they'll just have to join their brother at the doctors, isn't that right my babies! You'll be RIGHT AS RAIN in no time.." The butler guides you to leave the inoperable forms on the floor and guides you towards the door drawing an appropriate payment from his pocket.

Kroth will quietly take his payment, making no remarks about the condition of the clockwork cats, no point distressing he woman.

Belladona stretches out and finishes bandaging her wounds, 'Well at least we got paid for it right?"

The butler sees you both to the door and almost slams it when he sends you on your way.
