distracted by RL we'll probably skip you and come back. Don't take it personal
its just to kinda keep things moving. We'll pick you up when you get back. Any

Just don't get into a huge argument with me over it over OOC. :)"

-=FOREWARD=-

Recently, the Adventurer's Guild uncovered a code book while investigating the
harbor attack. The ciphers within were cracked by the greatest intellects
Alexandria could muster revealing, among other things, not only a timetable for
when the Magi-Tech submersible requires re-supply but the locations of where
such re-supplies were to occur.

Obviously, this presents a grand opportunity for getting a jump - not only on
the pirates - but also those who have been helping them!

You lot were recruited and rushed to the airfield. Upon arrival you encounter a
Magi-Tech airship -- no simple dirigible -- the sleek craft is likely an aerial
counterpart to the undersea vessel you seek.

Upon approaching the craft are greeted by a dour looking gray-bearded Khazad in
a stained apron, "Let's get this over with." He says leading you inside and into
a narrow corridor. You are placed within a small barracks with only a few
amenities and told to, "Stay here so ya' don't fuss up the machinery."

-=GUEST QUARTERS - THE SPECTRE=-

A small room which could accommodate no more than ten people and has only half
that many bunk-beds. To the touch, the cold steel gray walls feel as if they
reverberate some unseen power and yet no care has been given to decorating this
space. A single closet sized room with an inward swinging door comprises the
rooms only remarkable features -- a cold metal toilet that uses no water. A
powerful vacuum carries away waste when the button is depressed.

Without a time piece its hard to measure time but it feels like you may have
been onboard for hours. It was clear when the vessel lifted off and occasionally
mild turbulence shakes the room but there is no swaying as with a sailing vessel
just the distant thrum of a powerful magitech engine.

At some point someone had to try the door to the corridor -- its locked.

"You know. It would be really terrible if this ship ended up also going crazy
and trying to eat us." Everyone must be terribly glad to have Jessa Hartose,
Muse Extraordinaire along. She's very reassuring. Still, she seems to be in a
rather good mood, all things considered, adjusting her equipment. At least today
she didn't dress in bright colors.

Munch spends his time quietly standing by the wall. Not that the golem is
particularly pacient, but there isn't really room to pace in here. "Eh, so we
eat them first. But I'd rather face proper monsters. Better flavors."

Ormarr thumps out of the back room. As he does, he keeps looking back over his
shoulder, with Badger beside him. "Tha damndest thing I ever saw. It's like they
hooked some bit of tha Void and put it on spin. Or else there's an otyugh down
in tha basement and they're not tellin us. You think they'd do that?" he asks.

"Depening on what type of monster they are, I might be able to deconstruct
them," remarks Oates as he polishes his various toolkits.

"I'll.....let you eat them, Munch." Sonja says as she watches Ormarr coming out
of the back room. "You sure you're just......you know...I'm not finishing that
thoguht." She says with a chuckle as she sits on one of the benches, trying to
relax herself as she waits.....

"Hah! With what it's eatin, I don't think ya want to dissect it," says the oruch
cheerfully, to Oates. He gives his leggings a hitch that's just as cheerful
before stump-walking the rest of the way into the room. He's an older man,
though not old, and one of his tusks was broken long ago. It's worn off now, the
edge worn smooth, and his legs are slightly bowed, from a youth spent on
horseback. "Well, heck. Any word above from tha folks runnin this thing?"
Munch says, "So, remind me, does anyone care too much if we break this ship? The
underwater one, I mean. Breaking this flying one would be bad. But breaking the
underwater one would make sure they don't get away, right?"

Starting to tap on the door, Jessa shouts. "HELLOOOOOOOO! I AM GETTING BORED AND
HUNGRY." Maybe that will bring results.

===
As if in answer,

<A Bosun's Whistle Sounds>

"Adventurers to the bridge." A voice echoes from the walls.

With a metal clang -- the door unlocks.

===
"Yay!" Perhaps Jessa thinks they are serving an adventurer's buffet!
Munch whews. He was nervous for a moment there. Canibal pirates and underwater
monsters are one thing. A bored Jessa? That's more than he wants to deal with!
Ormarr looks over, "Well, that's about tha best idea I've heard all day," he
says, and then well, just when he'd looked to walk over and head in on the fun--
the door opens. His expression sorta...well. "Hah! Come on, Badger. Let's go say
hi to tha cap'n." Badger doesn't move. "Maybe he's got some lunch, eh?" Badger
gets up.

Sonja clicks her tongue. "They really felt the need to lock us in here." She
then looks to the others and gets up, slowly to make sure she doesn't crack her
head on the ceiling. She then opens the door and heads on out, dragging her club
behind her. Yeah, a bored Jessa is something she's not prepared to deal with
either.....

Oates follows the rest of the group out into the corridor. "Nice to finally have
a bit more space to move around in," he comments as he stretches.

-= CORRIDOR - THE SPECTRE=-

The same narrow corridor you found yourself in when you entered the ship. The
Khazad bars access to the aft of the ship with a grim look, "Bridge is that
way.." He motions.

There's really only one way to go without violence...

..to the bridge.

-= BRIDGE - THE SPECTRE=-

A wondrous sight!

The room opens into a wide oval. At the fore of the room is a great glass-window
showing the sky and the sea around the ship. Near-to this window is a dual
control bank littered with lights, buttons, and whirly-gigs which a pair of
small goblins work. Their movements occur with such tandem precision it almost
seems as if they share a single mind.

Control panels line the periphery with several swarthy looking individuals
manning their stations. One individual in particular catches your attention here;
an Egalrin with stark-white eyes clutches what appears to be moving his taloned
hands over a crystal ball upon one panel.

At the center of the room is what is best described as a magi-tech throne. A
huge clock-work chair laden with glowing fluidic pipes. The figure upon it has
his back to you as you enter but, when you have made your way inside, he stands
and turns..

The Captain is a trim human with a short stylish goatee with loose comfortable
clothes. An ornate looking death-ray pulses with soft blue energy from where it
is holstered upon his hip. Although physically unremarkable he grins with a wry
charm and there is no doubt that he's the one in charge here, "Sorry for the
accommodations." He remarks casually, "..there's not much here that doesn't
serve a purpose and when something goes awry.." He looks to the glass window
over his shoulder and gives a whistle which increases in pitch, "..down we go."
He looks back to you then, and winks.

"So, where's the buffet then? Since the door opened when I mentioned I was
hungry." Jessa looks extremely hopeful, glancing around. So many buttons to
potentially push.

Munch eyes the 'throne' with curiousity. Alchemic fluids of unnatural orgin tend
to be tastey. But the captain guy is intresting too. "Or if not food, what
happned to bring us up now?"

"Pleased ta meet ya. Don't think we got acquainted back at dock," the older
oruch says. He sounds as cheerful as ever, and reaches up to tug at his nose.
"Ormarr, shaman of tha Drum Reaver clan. Figured ya knew that already. ...an
pretty much what them all said."

Sonja says, "We do know how to stay out of people's way, Captain. or, I can, at
least." She then shrugs at Munch and Jessa. "Your timing was pretty good though.
Jessa mentioned food and you called us up." She then props the tip of her
earthbreaker on the floor, and rests her hands on the other end. "I'm Sunblade
Sonja Brynhldr. What seems to be the trouble, Captain?""

The captain grins at Jessa, "You don't stage the reception until after the
event.." he replies, nodding respectfully to Ormarr, "A pleasure to have you
aboard.." Then, to the rest, "I'm sure you /are/ curious why you're up here.."

"We've finally got what we came for..." The captain looks to the Egalrin,
"Mister Seywind, activate the display.."

The blind Egalrin moves his talons over the crystal sphere with pulses in
response. The glass which was showing water and sky grows hazy before clearing
to show something else altogether..

A volcanic island with a high mountainous shoreline and jagged rocks jutting
from the sea like black gnashing teeth. A clipper has worked its way through the
jetties and anchored itself in the shadow of the mountain...

The image moves again...

A small magi-tech raft is just reaching shore. As it opens a number of figures
disembark onto the rocky sand. They approach another group which has already
gathered, "Best we can tell that magitech tender came from Teakettle's ship.."
The Captain speaks over the visual, "From this height we can't get a good look
at what you'll be facing..." A modest pause, "..sorry." The display changes to
an overhead view of the island. Indeed, it's hard to tell exactly what all is
going on down there.

"If you'll all step onto the translocator-pods we'll see if we can't get you on
target before they exchange their goods.." To your rear there is the sound of
gears and the wall splits to reveal a small alcove where the floor is raised
into a half-dozen rings rings and each is filled with a fluidic substance, "One
to a pod. Just step into the middle of the ring."

"Just one question." Jessa looks completely serious. "Did Professor Fizzlefuse
have ANYTHING to do with this?"

The captain gives Jessa a wry smirk, "It's a collaborative effort." He admits,
without divulging between whom.

"Well don't that beat it," Ormarr says. He rubs at his jaw for a moment, then...
"Ey, Sonja. You look like yer good with armor. ...could ya help me with somethin
fer a bit, here?" he asks.

Jessa now looks rather reluctant to step on the things. Given her extensive
experience with the Professor, this is perhaps not too surprising. Still,
sighing heavily, she finally heads toward one of them, adjusting her gear
unnecessarily. "If I end up in Charn or Gustav or something, I shall be very put
out."

Sonja points to Jessa from the top of her earthbreaker. "Muse Jessa has a point.
That crackpot causes more misery than his 'discoveries' help." She then looks to
Ormarr. "Whatcha need help with, Ormarr?"

From afar, Ormarr may need to use the squeeze rules to fit in a smaller space.
^^; Or if he'd need to wildshape smaller?

GAME: Ormarr casts Barkskin.
Ormarr pages: Sorry for all the questions, Rogun. ^^;
Ormarr pages: Or well, rings. NM. X)
You paged Ormarr with 'You can fit. It'll be tight but you can fit. :)'
Ormarr pages: Ok. :D
Munch tries not to flinch at the name of Fizzlefuse, and eyes Jessa as he steps
onto a ring. "Next time, don't ask. Happier not knowing." Pondering a second,
the golem draws his axe here and now, uncertain where exactly they'll be going.
"I got this here uh...armor. I'm gonna need some help gettin it on, though right
quick before we disembark." The shaman pauses, laughs. "It's in mah bag, here.
You uh...scuze me. I'm gonna make this fast. ...spirits of Adom, spirits of tha
ancestors!" ...and with that, the shaman's form blurs. Spirits surround him and
he drops to all fours, fur sprouting over his body. As he does, the age, the
sagging stomach seems to vanish... and his size shoots up, head nearly clanging
against the roof of the vessel. Nearby is a pack--a heavy pack. That would be
the, well. Armor.

Sonja nods to Ormarr and does her best to get the armor out of the pack and onto
Ormarr. "Grunt it's too tight, Ormarr." And with that, she straps the armor onto
Ormarr's new form. Thankfully, Sonja focuses upon her task and tries not to be
TOO in awe of Ormarr's ability. Once done, she quickly grabs 'badger'. "Dunno if
you can understand me, but if you help us, badger, I'll make sure to get some
food you like afterwards." Hopefully, Badger cooperates.....

Munch eyes a moment, shrugs, and whispers to Jessa. But it's a barbarian whisper,
so still pretty loud. "Druids know where all the best mushrooms grow."

Badgers understand few words. One of them is 'nap.' The other one? The other one
is 'food.' This gets Badger's attention and he makes a sort of snuff. And then
his ears perk up and then he looks away.

Badger don't care.

And he saunters, sort of deliberately nonchalantly, over to the side, probably
pretending he'd not heard that at all. Meanwhile, Ormarr is doing his best to
adjust to the new barding as Sonja adjusts straps and buckles. He looks, well.
Like a big 'ole bear, and sits there, hunkering as close to he can to the floor.
Also very awkwardly. Very awkwardly. But it also looks like he grins at Munch.

<OOC> Rogun says, "Everyone done all the prep they care to do?"
<OOC> Jessa says, "Yup."
<OOC> Oates says, "Got my gear."
<OOC> Ormarr is good!
<OOC> Munch is set

Sonja gives one last tug on the barding and pats the Bear's flank. "all right."
Looks like we're ready. Or as ready as we'll ever be. She then looks to the
chambers. "Is there anything you can tell us about what we're facing, Captain?"

The Captain shakes his head, "If I had to guess, I'd say seamen.." He replies
for Sonja, "..but who or why? That I don't know. When you're done down there
send us a signal and we'll figure out how to pick you up."

Sonja says, "Right. We'll take care of them." She then trots to the
'transporter' and steps on an unoccupied space."

Ormarr starts to bob his head, and ends up whacking it against one of the chairs.
So the bear...carefully, very carefully, squeezes past until he's over one of
the indicated rings. The barding is a form of layered hide over his own--padded
materials sewn and layered together for modest protection.

The captain watches you go into the ankle deep fluid and then nods when everyone
is in their place, "Hey, if you get a chance -- see if you can salvage that
magitech tender.." Then, "..and hold still.."

Pivoting on his boot heel he strides towards the magi-tech throne, "Fik-Fak,
bring us into position and lower the invisibility screen.." He falls casually
into his command-station.

"Aie Aie!" The goblins cheer and rapidly manipulate the whirly-gigs causing the
vessel rocks smoothly to its stern.

"Mister Horthek, see if you can put them down on the shore."

The fluid about your feet glows an eerie red color and begins to bubble as if it
were being brought to a boil -- and yet there is no heat.

"..three...two...mark.."

A glass cylinder erupts from the floor, entrapping each of you individually, and
the boiling fluid rapidly fills your chamber as intent on drowning you. In that
instant you realize that you are trapped in a magitech conduit of some sorts but
by that points its too late..

-=MAGITECH CONDUIT=-

You are each pushed upward towards the ceiling where you might fully expect to
break your neck as you are restrained by the conduit walls but then it feels as
if something grabs you. You are squeezed tight and then hurled through time and
space...

-=Beach Head, Isle of Mandripar=-

Whether standing or prone...

A wide-shouldered Minotaur occupies a large section of the beach. Far behind him
there is a wily looking goblin clutching a magitech thunder belcher.

Near them are three individuals who are best described as 'pirates' complete
with cutlasses and bows.

Apparently your entrance was truly spectacular because they're all looking at
you -- surprised.

Ankle deep for giants is at least knee deep for Jessa and almost drowning for
them...well. The halfling is taken off guard and half drowned by the time they
are catipulted out of their pods and into the air. Perhaps that's why she ends
up face down, her hands braced on either side of her chest. "I hate that. I hate
that I hate that."

Two of the pirates gawk at the adventurers, "What sort of devilment is this?!"
One asks as both hold their ground drawing ornate looking cutlasses from their
sword belts. They are fifty feet away from where you landed.

"Relax. Just'a few snoops.." The jet-black Minotaur shrugs a large war-axe into
his hands and rolls his neck, "Come on.." He goads your group exhaling a burst
of fire from his nostrils and pawing the ground with his hoof, "Let's get this
over with!"

Lowering his head he charges the group and gores the biggest target available --
Ormarr -- lifting the shapehifter briefly up off the ground and then throwing
him off of his horns. He is now in the thick of your group.

The second pirate follows suit. He charges in at Sonja swinging hard into

closing one eye.

<BANG>

The weapon belches a burst of electric flame which hits Ormarr with surprising
accuracy.

"Tear'um up!" He cheers the Minotaur.

the fight occurring between the minotaur and the bear. He is about forty feet
out.

<OOC> Rogun says, "You circle around and get next to the Goblin. :)"

Oates blinks, landing on his feet but still getting somewhat disoriented. When
the gobber's rifle barks an attack, Oates decides that it's a decent target for
a squishy rogue, so the farmboy carefully closes in on the riflegobber.

Sonja lands on her feet as well, but it doesn't help the fact that her reflexes
are a bit slow on the draw. As the battle is joined, SOnja stares as the chaos
erupts around her. However, as the Minotaur steps close to beat on Bear-marr, it
makes one critical mistake.

Stepping too close to Sonja.

With a yell, SOnja winds up and CRACKS the Minotaur over the head with her
Earthbreaker, the return swing missing completely.

The pirate which had remained behind draws his rapier and closes rapidly upon
Oates. He swings his rapier but misses.

The Minotaur fumes with rage as attacks rain in upon him. The creature's eyes
glow with unholy power and he swings his axe wildly at Bear-marr but misses with
both strikes succeeding only at keeping him temporarily at bay.

The pirate which had charged Sonja allows her to disengage and takes advantage
of her movement on the Minotaur by shoring up the distance so that she is pinned
between the large creature and his narrow rapier. He jabs and then slahses,
catching her once.

When Sonja strikes her mighty blow, Ormarr roars. WHen the minotaur swings his
axe, he snarls again, and takes the opening the paladin's maneuver offers--
striking first with teeth and then with claw. The claw snags and he hauls him
back into a hold--just in time for Badger to dive forward and sink his claws
into the bullish warrior. When he does, the bull goes slack and droops from his
claws, and while Ormarr looks surprised, the ghostly Ancestors give a warcry of
victory.

Jessa darts toward the druid, ducking a bit because dead minotaurs are gross.
She's chanting out a prayer as she is moving, her voice urgent. And then she
touches the orc and sends a rush of golden healing fire into him as the last
word escapes her lips, looking relieved that she's gotten there in time.

Munch for a brief moment is disapointed he didn't get to take on the minotaur,

Ormarr shakes himself to clear his head as the sudden headrush of Ceinara's

form the Ancestors lent him. He snarls, diving into the space near Oates and
snapping, with Badger coming in just below. Badger, more focused, sinks the
wild's claws into the gobber.

Darting after the other two members of her group, Jessa stands alone. The Muse

The nimble airship buzzes a hundred feet over the beach firing its magi-tech
cannon. A ball of brilliant energy lances outward leaving a dazzling wake as it
vaporizes the sea air. The burst impacts upon the tall mountain blowing its face
open and sending a small landslide of rocks downward and crashing into the deck
of the moored clipper -- and just in time..

The crew had been working to lower another lifeboat full of men but with the
secondary attack from above they are now scrambling.

<<CHOOM CHOOM>>

The next blast boils the ocean water near the ship as it misses.

The airship ascends rapidly.

<BOOM> <BOOM>

Conventional deck cannons are fired from the clipper at the airship as it
ascends.

As the smugglers begin their surrender the Goblin's yellow eyes widen and he
gives the magi-tech tender a hasty look before turning and breaking into a full
run that direction. He all out sprints each stride a gazelle-like stride.

He runs up the metal-boarding ramp and vanishes into the vessel.

The second pirate holds his attack in favor of the offered surrender. He looks
warily to the adventurers but then opts to watch the goblin as it runs away.

<OOC> Rogun says, "Okay, you move just inside the vessel."

Munch blinks, and hesitates a moment, really not having expected a surrender.
Pouting a moment, the golem gives a sulky "Fine." and turns towards the ship. -

barbarian takes off across the beach at breakneck speed, grabbing the rail of
the boarding ramp to halt himself before plunging inside.

Oates mutters a quiet expletive as the goblin runs off, following Munch and
getting far enough onboard the ship to get a good view. What he sees triggers
some louded cursing. "Better hurry - he's trying to take off!" the farmboy yells.

SOnja makes her way towards the ship the Goblin ran into. "Throw your weapons
down out of your reach!" She then looks towards the ship......

The airship does a broad circle up near the cloud-line.

The deck-cannons cease firing for the other vessel's extreme range. The large
ship's sails are slowly lowered as if the crew were preparing to get underway.

The remaining pirates unceremoniously drop their cutlasses at their feet.

<OOC> Rogun says, "Munch."

Ormarr snuffs, lowering his head as he heads over to where the lucht stands. He
nudges her with a foreleg, his bearish expression focused on the ship ahead of
them. "Huhrrng," he says, sounding confused. Badger bumbles after, nose to the
ground.

<OOC> Munch says, "Okay... so we're on a small boat, the large boat is still a

but harmless, gas venting from his systems. He does keep an eye on the gob and a
hand on his axe, however. No need to get careless. "Fine, fine, no one else has
to die just yet. Spoilsports."

The clipper ship unfurls its sails and starts to slowly negotiate the jagged
rocks which will lead it back out to sea. The last sight you have on it is its
white sails against the sky as it vanishes over top of the horizon.

Although this vessel has escaped you have secured the more precious of those
that were available -- the Magitech tender looks to be quite advanced and
regularly ferries crew from the halfling submersible to the shore.

You have also secured the more intelligent of your enemies, the goblin, as well
as a pair of smugglers and the cache of supplies they brought with them.

Whether its a spell or a large fire you signal the airship which descends near
the beach after the clipper and its cannons are out of view. Hovering just over
the bay its loud-speakers inform you that another vessel will be along shortly
to pick you up.

The airship then ascends then and seems to regularly patrol the area - no doubt
to keep the submersible from surfacing - until a second, less sleek, dirigible
arrives and launches small craft to take you and your prisoners onto its deck.

The magitech craft is likewise loaded though you are the heroes so it is not
your burden to bear.

Besides, when you get onboard you find that now that the event has been
concluded the reception has been prepared. A feast awaits, as promised, and so
you wine and dine all the way back to Alexandria.
