  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Cryosanthia, Ezil, Merek, Murder, Garrett, Mikilos, Ignis, Iskandar, Kaelyn
  • Place: A07: Lower Alexandria Market District

  • Summary: Cryosanthia has finished a short performance in the Lower Market when she encounters Ezil, who has something on his mind. Merek arrives, and appears equally troubled. Murder admonishes Cryo for not valuing her entertainment value properly, threatens others nearby and climbs Iskandar when he arrives. Garrett appears, disguised, as well as Ignis, who wishes to discuss their experiences with Tref. Mikilos meanwhile, attempts to get duck soup, then tells Cryo he's irritated by the things she's been singing. Kaelyn comes in with her cart, in time to hear the followup lecture Mikilos gives, and there is further discussion on the nature of the Fae. The market starts to close as the light fades, and the group leaves for small-beer.

Just west of the Northern Highbridge and east of the arena, commerce blooms. Noisy and bustling, most anything may be purchased here for a price. Vendors from all cultures sell their wares from exotically colored carts, and the smells of different nations and far-off city-states mix with local ones from Alexandria and its riverbanks.

For all its commerce, visitors are advised to keep hold of their purses. Even the merchants possess a certain, cunning look. Most are positioned at carts or stalls as opposed to a formal storefront, with trade here being mobile, and visiting from all parts of the world.

Though the quality of goods suffers here compared to Upper Alexandria, the options are more diverse. Too, the oversight of the Watch is slightly less, and during times events are held at the Arena, chaos abounds. After dark, the square becomes a hangout for bards and other entrepreneurs whose business is best conducted by night; the shadows at the edges of the square often contain furtive figures engaging in their own brand of business.

It's late afternoon and the market is still open although some of the stalls and carts have closed up. The weekend market has a slightly different flavour, with farmers from around Alexandria bringing in their wares, and the shipping tends to coincide with this event, allowing for unexpected items. There is the scent of fried food, burning herbs, and the citizenry, depending how the wind shifts. Several people, single or in small groups are shopping. Last night's strange sky events seem to have left no lingering impact.

At this moment, a white sith-makar is finishing up a brief performance. She found a crate to stand on, and before any merchant could get her down, sang the poem she composed around the Hearth's Fire in Mictlan. This was punctuated with a few humorous musical sound effects. Largely, it went unremarked, the various passers-by stopping to listen then going on about their business.

Ezil had heard that music, weaving through the dispersing crowd as he makes his way to the source. Surprised at what who he finds there makes him smile. Under an arm he carries a journal, or some book or another without a name on it's cover, raising a hand and bouncing once as he tries to catch the Sith-Makar's attention. "White-One! I did not know you sang." he calls, trying to flag her down.

A small bundle of furs in the rough shape of a very short person had stopped to listen. And once the song is done, the wee figure walks up to Cryosanthia. A wee, green hand appears from the fur bundle, and offers up a silvery coin.

Merek has with him what looks like a drink of vodka or equivelant, though he's only a bit buzzed. He is probably trying not to recall the nights before and a fight with Yukia. He notices Cryosanthia and offers a wave, then he smiles to his friend Murder, and new associate Ezil, "Heya folk."

Cryosanthia smiles down at the small bundle of furs and the offered coin. She crouches so she's more on the other person's level, and waves her hand in refusal. "I am glad my poem pleased you. It's a public service, I'm singing for free to spread the word. Please, save the coin."

"Blessed Follower of the Stars! I am flattered, I try." Cryosanthia says, her attention being caught. She stands, nodding to Merek as he approaches.

This particular human had long brown hair and a hat on his head, covering his ears with a thin brown moustache and a goatee. As he makes hisv way along the lower market he looks around, seeming bored more then anything. As he hears the singing he moves closer and looks to Cryosanthia. He smiled and he looks to ezil and makes his way over to the man. "Seems I keep running into you and the lizard girl...one would think your stalking me." He says with a smirk to the man, letting his sildanyan accent slip through.

The wee bundle of furs sprouts another hand, and they reach up to pull back the hood and mask of fur, revealing a pale-green-skinned Goblin. Who promptly shoves the coin into one of the pouches on the icy-scaled Sith's belt. "No.", she says firmly, "You take the coin. Are ya saying my money is no good?" The Gobbo crosses her arms. She blinks and peers at Merek a moment, offering him a nod, before glancing back to Cryosanthia. Expecting some answer.

Merek looks between the three, while he offers a light nod back, then he seems to content while he adjusts his white scarf which is adjusted about his white and black attire. He still looks a bit distant, then he notices Garrett, "Ah, hey, nice to see ya again. You really need to work on the wig."

Ezil seems confused by Garrett as he speaks, even with the hint of an accent the disguise seems to have done it's job. "I don't think I know you... have we met?" he asks, shifting to look at the group that's gathered, changing the subject for the moment as he draws closer to Merek and Cryo. "Any how, I have a matter to discuss, but...." Merek's drink eyed as he can smell it the moment he drew near. "Ooof." his thought interrupted as he turns his nose away. "What is that, it smells terribly strong."

"I'm not stalking anyone. Who are you?" Cryosanthia asks Garrett. She's been unable to see through his disguises so far, no suprise she fails again even if his voice is somewhat familiar. She is immediately distracted by Murder. She's offended the small goblin woman somehow.

"Uh.. uh, Yes I will take. Your money is good. My apologies. Thank you, thank you." She takes the silvery coin, closing her hand around it, adding a stage-bow which ends up being really low.

Then, Alcohol? Merek? She's standing tal, her head jerks in a birdlike way as she looks at him, the mysterious stranger, and Ezil. She makes one more worried glance down at Murder before answering Ezil, "Yes we can talk...?"

"Don't mind Murder, she's not really upset," Merek offers amusedly to Cryosanthia. He wiggles up the bottle to Ezil, "A nice potion that makes me feel better. I'm not drunk, I will... Well," he places a nice cork in it, then nods, "So the scent won't bother." He does wiggle his fingers to Garrett, "I'm not saying, this is too fun to watch," he teases, grinning to the guy. "If the conversation is important I can find something else to do."

Murder grins toothily at Cryosanthia, and lets her arms fall to her sides. "If ya're gonna sing, ya gotta take the money people offer. Lots dun have much ta give, yanno? So it means a lot to them when they give it ta someone like you. Ya make people smile or laugh, or make 'em ferget their horrid lives, they reward ya!" The Gobbo waggles a finger at Cryosanthia. She blinks then, and turns on Merek, her teeth and fangs on display again as she grins at him.

"Are ya not fond of yer shins? Cos I can kick 'em real good for ya." The Gobbo frowns.

Mikilos wanders the market, browseing, taking a break. The tall elf spies and makes his way towards a noodle cart, waiting a few moments before sighing. "No, pork isn't 'just like duck'... but it's still good. Large bowl, please, extra peppers." Waiting for his meal, Mikilos peers about to see what has a crowd starting to gather a couple carts down.

Ignis emerges from deeper in the marketplace and does so without much fanfare as he weaves his way in and out of the crowd in a sort of absent minded, half paying attention fashion. He's lightly armored with a fur lining his gear and a hooded winter coat atop this as well as armed albiet with his weapons peacebonded...and yet despite this doesn't seem in any particular hurry in regards to a mission or some particular duty. Instead, he's mildly pre occupied with a set of gems he's turning over in his hands curiously. A few stones of various colors which brilliantly catch the afternoon light and scatter its rays here and there.

When he eventually steps more completely into view it's just in time to hear the wrap up of the singing and he turns his attention in that direction with some curiousity. Some recognition does occur at this point and his face lights up with some bemusement but then he pauses and becomes more..neutral? Thoughtful. A light frown tugs at his features and he slows his steps..and then picks back up again to approach the group. "Hello again."

Ezil is easily distracted at times, his glance going from Merek to Murder as the man walks to get his noodles. "Her name is... Murder?" then looking to the Goblin with a small smile. "Well, greetings to you." he says, trying to be polite, despite the growing numbers and oddity of how life is playing out this evening. "I was going to mention the presence of two devils in Tref, bound somehow to a child... but I don't know much more. They have been dispatched, but I have had a strange couple of days." getting to the root of his matter, but not divulging the full detail as Garrett gets another glance. Some familiarity there, but nope, the bell in his head doesn't seem to ring.

Murder peers at Ezil a moment, and blinks slowly. "Yes, name's Murder. I'm right here, ya? Ya can ask me yerself, instead o'someone else." She huffs, and then her ears stand up straight. The Gobbo turns suddenly, and shortly thereafter, is standing before Mikilos, her nose working. "Hi!", she says cheerfully. "How have you been, Mikilos? How is the fight going against ol' watserface and her little minion Kol? Whatcha got there?" Her nose works again as she sniffs in his dinner's direction.

Merek frowns a bit at Murder's mention of those names, then he looks to Mikilos with a wave. Then it's back to Ezil, "Aye," to the goblin, "You can try," he teases.

"With time I will improve on my disguises...until then." Garrett says as he looks to Cryosanthia. "Its me, Garrett." He says as he pulls off his moustache and goatee. Other then not having as fat cheeks as he had when he first met her. He then looks to Merek. "So what are you per say? I am just a skilled thief." He says as he watches thev gobber

Mikilos chuckles quietly, making his way towards the group with a large bowl of steaming noodles. "Hello Murder." He nods politely to the other gathered. "Peppered pork with wheat noodles in broth. i'd hoped for peppered duck, but they were out." He sighs again. "As for Kol and Kompany, been in the library trying to research, but not much luck. What are all of you up to?"

"Yes nest-mother." Cryo answers instinctively, she hasn't heard that admonishing tone in a long time, but her old reactions are still there. Eyes wide, standing straight, it is a second more before her shoulders relax.

She has not seen Mikilos yet, focused as she is on the near group. The scattered rays of colour catch her attention though, enough she sees the gems, the hands holding them, the man attached to the hands, although no sign of recognition crosses her face. "Are you Garrett the Fashionable's friend? I'm Cryosanthia."

The white lizard grabs Ezil's wrist. It's a firm grasp, she pulls him closer. "Tell me about your strange days." Now she notices Mikilos, "Uh, Hello. I've been spreading the information you told me."

Ezil nods to Garrett then, shaking his head lightly. "I was fooled this time, so I give you credit." he mentions, though at Murder's words he looks to the goblin with a sigh. "No offense, Little-Lady Murder. I was just caught off guard. I'm Ezil." he offers, a hand extended to her as he can't help but offer a sheepish glance in apology. "It seems like it will be a busy night, so many faces. Both old and new to me... and no music or fire to enjoy it with." letting his topic drop for the moment.

"My name is Ignis and I have met some here before." Ignis gives Cryosanthia an easy going mildly lopsided smile and then indicates Murder, Ezil and then blinks as Garrett reveals himself. He laughs and then arcs an eyebrow, turning at the approach of the mage and blinking as he hears mention of the vampire's name. Mention of Tref isn't lost on him as well and he frowns in thought, "There's much going on. I wonder if they are related at all..but.."

At this he frownds again and looks to Ezil, "Ezil isn't it? Yes..Ezil. Speaking of Tref..can I..ask you a question?" A loaded question perhaps but it seems clear something is on his mind.

Merek does what he usually does when there's a crowd, and sinks on into himself, especially when he wasn't sure who he was talking to or who was to be talking with him back. He does pull his scarf along to his features and frowns a bit warily. Garrett, yes he asked something, "I'm a Theurge."

This white-furred wolf is nearly the size of a warhorse, though with slightly less bulk. Splotches of grey and black streak across her pelt and break up her silhouette. The fur of her mane is streaked with an odd wavey pattern of ice-blue fur.

Murder pauses a moment and glances to Cryosanthia. She blinks a few times and then grins. "Nest-mother? Nah! I am a shaman! Though I guess more a warrior-caste. But I can set stuff on fire just by thinking it soooo shaman fits too. Dunno if I could be a proper nest-mother. Your broodlings are biggernme!" She snorts and giggles a little, before looking back to Mikilos.

"Duck an' pork are th'same! At least, the way you humans char the meat to near flavourness. But iffn you don't like it, I could take it offa your hands." The Gobbo's stomach growls loudly in agreement. "I've been uh wassit called... hibernating! Alexandria is comfy for that. Do ya need help studyin' then, Miki?"

She glances sideways at Ezil. "I ain't no noble and certainly no lady. Jus' call me Murder and no one gets chewed on. Shins stay unbruised, yanno?" She turns her gaze to Garret. "Thief? Ya sure ya should be sayin' that? Out loud, I mean? In public? Where screams bring guards?"

Ezil shakes his head to Murder, looking to her with a soft smile. "I can't you're a lady to me all the same. Though one that happens to be named, Murder." his attention then turning to Ignis, but taking a cautionary step away from the Goblin, because he values his shins. "Of course. I didn't catch your name when we met, but I recall you. What can I answer?" he asks, letting his glance sweep over the group again. "It's like a family, isn't it?" he says to Ignis, motioning him close.

Mikilos blinks to Cryo. "You are? Which information is that? I'm a fount of facts." He grins to Murder. "Similar, but not the same. Texture is different. Anyway, can't say as I really need help, just time." He considers a moment. "And maybe a Mourner, if you happen to have one handy."

"Family?" Merek muses, then he looks to his drink, seeming to think about it. "Ya, after this week, I don't know about that." He seems to look a bit into his thoughts while he looks to the place.

Ignis glances back and forth between the others and various conversation topics. He slips the gems into a pouch at his side and then turns to Ezil upon noticing the mans acknowledgement. He frowns mildly after taking another look around with a slight eyebrow raised to Garrett before finally gesturing for Ezil to follow him. A few steps taking him just to adjacent from the group enough so that his questioning doesn't intentionally interrupt their own back and forth.

"It's about Tref.." he asks, expecting Ezil is moving with him. Once comfortable with the spacing he turns, "I would have discussed this on the way back but I thought maybe it was to soon after the skirmish and I needed to let it settle for abit. The demon. Why did you dispatch it so quickly after it begged for mercy?" His tone is neutral as he speaks, not sounding angry nor filled with accusation but not congratulatory either.

Iskandar wanders down the streets, a wineskin held in one hand but capped. For the moment. He smiles when he notices Murder and then veers in that direction. He nods to a few of those he knows and then flashes a smile to those he hasn't met. "Greetings...Iskandar," he introduces himself in what is for him a lowered voice. Although for most others it would probably be considered 'normal' conversational volume.

"Being able to set things on fire and defeat any warrior are what I remember about my nest-mothers." Cryosanthia laughs, feeling a connection with the goblin woman, even if it is leftover childhood terror.

The white sith-makar looks over to Mikilos next, "What you told us in the Temple of Elune. The Shard Tower teleports and makes you forget, it's Mistress is a Fae Queen who wants to enslave Alexandria. Her minions, Kol the Vampire desires you, and the other, Yukai is an Ice Witch Demon that caused the Ooze Plague, or spreads it for her, and it can't be magically healed and causes undead."

Cryosanthia has also lost track of a lot of the things going on around her, she let go of Ezil's wrist at some point, and Merek and the others seem to be talking amongst themselves. Plus, there's a giantborn to stare at.

The Gobbo huffs at Ezil. "Dun call me lady.", she grumps. Looking back to Mikilos, she sniffs again in the direction of his dinner. "Feed me an' I'll help. Whether tis finding ya a Mourner or running books in th' library." She grins up at the man, trying to look sufficiently starved and .. then Iskandar arrives. Murder turns and moves to his side, and without a word, begins to climb up the man, eventually settling on his shoulder. Where she appreciates the view of the market. She looks down to Cryosanthia and cackles. "Yes, all good mommas instill such feelings. Never cross mama!"

Ezil nods his head to Ignis, giving Cryosanthia an apologetic glance as he follows Ignis to their short destination away. He raises a hand, slapping Ignis' shoulder with a soft pat. "I shouldn't of." he says flatly, his tone no longer filled with mirth. "I made a mistake, but the auras I felt, and the children in danger... I saw no need to entertain it's wishes." he admits, sighing. "Dispatching it was all I could think of, Ignis. Every instinct in my body told me to purge it from our realm and send it home." being honest, but the man still chews upon his bottom lip for a brief moment before sighing. "I can't give you a reason that would be worthy, as it was my temper getting the best of me. That child had been put through something to fill him with that kind of darkness."

GAME: Merek rolls will: (2)+13: 15

Mikilos blinks at Cryo a few moments, and sighs. ",,,I did say that, didn't I? Oh the Crimson Pen is going to love that..." He nods to Murder, watching as she climbs, and nibbles on his noodles. "I appericate the offer. Just now am taking a break, but will keep you in mind should any tasks come up. Though if you really want your own bowl of noodles, all you have to do is ask."

Iskandar watches Murder approach with a slightly disbelieving look. But then he seems to relent. He doesn't so much as shift as she climbs to his shoulder. And sure enough after a but he almost forgets that she's there. Instead he looks back and forth at the others as hey speak. Iskandar listens and sometimes shows expressions of recognition if they discuss something he's familiar with.

Merek looks over to Ezil when he's talking to people about that situation, and he pulls his scarf a little bit about his features. He looks like he's trying his best to keep away from the conversation. He tenses a bit then finds a place to settle in while he takes a lantern to play with, checking the device. He does look to Cryosanthia and offers a nod, while he looks to folk.

Ignis studies Ezil closely as he speaks. His eyes hood and he's clearly listening intently, focused like a hawk and carefully weighing every word.

He then seems to sigh with relief and his demeanor lightens and becomes more relaxed and understanding. "..It's alright. I completely understand. I was worried you were going to take a more..dogmatic approach. You're not wrong. It didn't belong on this plane and those children had been through much.."

He shakes his head at memory of it all and then continues, "Sadly..the eldest boy would tell us nothing. He didn't summon the creatures himself. Couldn't have..and the demon might have been willing ot yield more information. The object stolen was a precious divine artifact. It would have been good to know more but the past is the past. I just had to know. Ignis smile fully returns now, "I'm glad I asked! I really needed to. Thank you, Ezil."

And well, Kae's back to being 'normal' again, or the new normal, her back legs have what's left of pants cuffs on them as she's pulling her wagon along, with a horse tied to the back of the wagon and well she's grumbling, something about a miscalculation... Who knows, wait? those lil stubby horns she had that were baaarely visible before are now poking up through her hair some, and she mutters again as she rubs the top of her head... "Eeeeeef! You'd think it'd be permanent or something." She mutters and grumbles, her tail lashing a bit..

Then the goofy elf-turned drake taur blinks as she notices people... She tilts her head one way, then the next, and back again.. She then shrugs and starts wandering toward the group of people, the girl only pausing long enough to get a handful of pasties from her saddle bag and begin nibbling on them.

"Hey Iskandar!", the Gobbo says enthusiastically. "How've you been?" She settles onto one side, still eyeing the market and the people below. "They're almost like... big ants." A few moments later, there comes a squeaky snoring sound.

Garrett watches the various peoples and he looks to Ezil and he pats the man's shoulder. "While you acted without thinking or intention, it was better to dispatch it before it did more harm." He says softly as he watches Ignis. "I trust all is good with you?" He asks curiously.

Ezil shakes his head, his smile not returning after his story. "It was dogma, Ignis. I am the all-friend, or I am supposed to be. I am the bastion of the community, shield of the road. It has many names, but my temper reminded me of an image I saw lost in time." his words not making much sense, his second shrug a bit shallow as he lets his glance. "I should of done better, but I can't take back my actions or my reasons. It's a shame we got nothing because of it. The relic was returned, but now we can't figure out why it was taken. So, don't thank me for my folly." his glance then back on the man, offering a half-smile. "I should thank you for being willing to hear me out."

Cryosanthia says, "You did!" Blink. A blank expression is given to Mikilos, "The Crimson Pen? Who is that? It seemed like some of those details weren't known, so I thought it might help, spreading them around, seeing if I could find some contacts." and accidentally earning some coin.

Ezil, Ignis and Garrett are speaking, she's heard some of it, but not all. Maybe tha's what Ezil wanted to tell her, or something else? She'll quiz him later. Merek is bundling up and is playing with a lantern. He isn't drunk, perhaps still ill? Did the cold from last night catch him. "Are you sure you're not pushing yourself, do you still need to be abed?"

Iskandar is there. She's only a few inches shorter than him, and feels the strange isolation of looking directly at him over the heads of the others. And... that's a bouncy drake-taur, coming this way. Was that contagious? Cryo's tail starts vibrating against the ground. This is why one sings memories.

Mikilos sighs, and smiles. "The Crimson Pen is the collctive name of some writers who write fictious stories for lonely housewives. It's brawdy taverns songs dressed up in pretty paper so they can pretend it's refined. They have a habit of basis stories of real events. Very loosly based, but a few too many can't tell truth from fiction."

"Ezil, I'm not thanking you for your folly. I'm thanking you for being -aware- it was folly...and in doing so helping me with my own self doubts. Giving me things to consider and recognize in myself." Ignis nods his head to Ezil and continues after a pause, "All we can ask is to be aware of our errors and attempt to understand ourselves better..so we can choose to do better in the future. A tall order but something to aspire to, right?"

Garrett's...well it's not exactly a true intrusion as he was also there...does cause Ignis to look momentarily startled. The two had moved away so the 'thief' obviously had followed. It's a done matter now, as far as the paladin is concerned. After pause he nods to Garrett and grows more relaxed, "All is well." He subtly or perhaps not so subtly lays a hand on the pouch containing the gems he purchased. "How about you? You took a nasty blow in Tref."

He gestures for the three of them to return to the group when ready.

Merek blinks a bit, hearing that he was addressed, looking to Cryosanthia with a lift of his gaze to the woman. He does seem to think about it before answering, "Well, it's not that... I just don't do well in crowds, I'm also still a little..." He thinks of the word, "I am managing," he adds. Perhaps a reference to the situation with Yukia, perhaps to yesterday. He does look to Ezil, thoughtful, "We all need to decide on things like that as we're adventurers. Not fun," he admits. Then he looks to Garrett, then to Mikilos, "I am not a fan of crazy journalist folk."

Iskandar blinks as he hears snoring somewhere close at hand. Finally he seems to realize what has happened. Reaching up he lifts the slumbering Murder off of his shoulder the way one would a small child. If it was a child with fangs and a handful of lethal weaponry that is. Finally he sighs, "I'm never going to live this down." Then he turns and strides off in the direction of Goblintown still bearing the sleeping gobbo.

"I have spoken to a cleric or paladin as well as a wizard. They said if the wound doesnt heal in the next few days, seek them out and they will heal it." Garrett says as he walks with the three. He moves quietly and seems to know how to control his movements to make the least amount of sound as possible. He then looks to the various other people here and he pockets his fake moustache and goatee.

Kae's getting closer! Yup, and well there's that usual 4 beet rythm that comes with her walking now a days, she's got really big feets, but then again, lately she's been pretty good size... Kae then pauses and blinks and siiiiighs, before she unhooks her self, sits on her haunches then is starting to try and get at what's left of her pants that appears to be bits of legs that's attached to her back legs below the hocks...

"Eeef, got another one wrong and this is like constricting!" She calls out, now flailing some before flopping over onto her side with a dull whump.. Her tail lashes once, hits the cart and rocks the whole wagon some, this thing is a good sized buckboard at that so there must have been more than just a little force.. "Oopse, frigging tail." She mutters as it slaps against the ground with a dull, and quite audible whomp... Finally Kae's able to work the pants cuffs free and she looks at both of htem as she gets back to her haunches..

A loooong drawn out sigh and she mutters "And I liked those breeches too..." She says, now drooping just a little bit...

Ezil finds his smile, having heard Merek's words called to him, and soon he is bobbing his head to Ignis' words. He gives the Eldanar's shoulder a second pat, with a focused glance. "The future is all we have, and you're right. We need to make it the best one possible." seeming to have found his mirth. "Just... if I ever take up wearing black, stop me." his laugh genuine, and moving to look back over the market.

Seeing Merek and Cryo, Ezil raises his hand towards them and heads that way, motioning Ignis to follow. "Let me introduce you?" leaving that topic behind, taking note of how busy this place has become. "Sorry if I was rude. Though it seems you heard my troubles." speaking to Merek, and pausing at the sight of Kae. "Never a dull moment in this city."

"I'll be sure and keep that request in mind." responds Ignis to Ezil, looking amused before turning back to Garett, "I'm sorry my own healing arts weren't sufficient to get you completely recovered. We can try again if you'd like...?" he pauses upon seeing Kaelyn's, ah, situation. There is recognition but also confusion. Clear confusion. He then just shakes his head as if trying to clear away the cobwebs and turns to nod to Merek and Cryo, now that he's rejoined them. "Not a dull moment, indeed..."

Cryosanthia smiles at Mikilos, a grin that shows her terrible number of teeth. "But we make our own fiction! As the Bards say, when the lie becomes the legend, sing the Legend. Truth is ... often small. It sometimes needs to be bigger. Also, can the Fae be trapped by belief?"

"You have to learn how to manage them Merek, crowds are like battles with less pointy things, usually. That's what the Warriors tell me, focus on a target."

Or watch a drake-taur try to put pants on, and disconnect from a cart, and not manage her tail at all! Cryosanthia winces in sympathy. She has a clear view. As Ezil, Garrett and Ignis approach she bobs her head at them.

"I wont turn down free healing." Garrett says as he raises his sleeve and reveals the demon claw wound on his arm. He then looks to Cryosanthia and watches her. He then looks to the various people and waits for ignis to heal his arm.

Merek looks up to Ezil with a nod while he stands up, looking to his lantern, then he smiles. "Merek," he adds for Ignis when he meets the new man. Then he looks to Cryosanthia, "You have a point, been doing well? I am working with the things about the lesson I had in mind for sorcerer lines. I am working to improve my gear as well!" He nods also to Garrett! A look then to Ezil, "Nice to see ya about."

Mikilos tsks, but smiles. "It;s which parts they tell bigger that bother me." He blinks at the question, considering. "...I... don't know. There's a level of reality to belief, but I'm not sure how it imacts the fae, specifically the fae nobility."

Ezil nods as he is still uncharacteristically quiet, watching the group of people talk and mingle. It's Garrets response to Ignis that causes him smirk before turning to watch Kaeylin and her odd plight over clothing. "Merek, Mikilos... I have a philosophical question for you two some time, but not for tonight." trying to shake off his earlier conversation as he glances to Cryo as she watches Kaeylin. "I got distracted earlier. Sorry, White-one. I am just a mess because of the last two days. Too much in such a little time for me."

"Who said anything about free?" Ignis smirks as he answers Garrett, "..You can 'repay' me later." He looks over the wound, examining its severity, "Did you go to Althea's people? If so, I'm surprised they let this wound remain. You were doing work for the guild, not to mention recovering a divine relic with ties to all the faiths. An offering of some sort would have been sufficient.."

Ignis holds the arm steady with one hand and then raises his free hand up over the indicated wound. Motes of golden light drift into visibility around his out stretched hand, the same golden light resting upon his palm and increasing gently in intensity like sunlight slowly pushing through a window into a room. The healing virtue of Daeus warms the arm and begins to remove the wound at a pace slower then what a dedicated healer might accomplish but it continues until it is completed.

"There. Good as new. Just don't go getting mauled by a demon again, hmm?"

"I am, yes, I have been busy performing. I'm curious about what you find out Merek, but I can't help you study, so let me know when you have something. Gear, sounds nice." Mental note Cryo, worry about gear soon.

"Mikilos, it... is not something I know, you are the scholar. I had heard that along with cold iron, the fae had a weakness to lies and jokes about them, that their strength is in a fear and that will unravel it. Although, it seems unlikely I agree. Perhaps what I heard is the lie."

The wound on Garrett's arm catches her attention. Cryo makes no comment, watching the healing with interest.

"I understand Blessed Follower of the Stars, Peace be upon your nest. I mean it, sleep with security and try to find yourself. I would like to hear your philosophical question too."

She also calls loudly Kaelyn's way, "Are you in need of assistance?"

Mikilos nods once mor and sighs. "That's part of the problem, plenty of bardic tales told with 'facts' that make a good story... but less imprssive when you try to actaully make use of them. Sorting the fact from the myth can take time, and fae aren't exactly forthcomming with how they can be killed."

Soo isn't trying to put pants -on- she's taking off the remnants of pants!! There's a huuuuge difference! She peers at the taile vibraty bard curiously now, The goofball Artificer tilting her head one way and the other as she stareds at Cryosanthia curiously... "Soo is nao a time to say Peace to your Nest or something?" She says to the other and blinks curiously, befrore looking from one person to another "Aaanyhooos, I was trying to fix my problem, and well umm yeah the fix wore off while I was wearing pants... Sooo I brokeed them, and they were my favorites tooo!"

Garrett watches the wound heal and once it closes he nods. "I dont like owing people. Makes people think I have standards," He says with a smirk to the man and he looks to Kaelyn and he picks up one of her pants buckles. "I know a tailer and armorsmith in this district. They do good work. If you can provide the materials they can fix anything." He says as he watches the womantaur thing.

Merek looks over to Cryosanthia, then to Mikilos, "Of many folk I have actually met, I haven't seen a lot of fae," he says, with a nod between the two, then he looks to Garrett as well as Kae, "Hey Kae, doing alright?" he asks.

"Get used to it. Life is often about owing -someone-...even if you have no standards." remarks Ignis with a smirk of his own. "Anyway there we go...and I'm afraid I must take my leave now." He turns, giving the rest of the group a nod and a final long look at Kaelyn, "I need to deliver the items I purchased. It was good meeting you all." A slight wave of his hand is given and he's then turned and beginning to walk off. After one more look at Kaelyn, a few blinks..and then off he goes.

"Of course, White-one. Peace be unto your nests as well. I called you friend, and I would not leave you excluded." Ezil assures, his thumbs hooking on his sword-belt, taking in this sight of Kaelyn with a chortle and shake of his head as he had just uttered those words. "Well, one pair of pants is not too bad a price to pay if you are that close to a cure." he calls to Kaelyn and then nudges the Sith-Makar next to him lightly. "Just don't judge the question I ask too badly." he muses, looking to Marek and Mikilos as they talk of fae. "All the Faring Folk legends paint them as tricksters, and prefer to play at the expense of other races."

"Weaknesses and how to be killed aren't things most hand out easily. Although the secret usually is something hard, well placed and moving fast. Well my hope is someone will come out of the woodwork and tell me what I've got wrong, before, oh, an unhappy Vampire comes after me because of a Novelization." Cryosanthia grins at Mikilos.

"Yes! It is! Peace be upon your Nest! I'm Cryosanthia. I'm sorry about your pants." She shouts across the market. Totally appropriate. Heads turn, heads that weren't already turned on Kaelyn.

"I shall not judge your question, Blessed Follower of the Stars."

"Ah, philosophy, always an interesting thing," Merek admits, while he looks between the folk, "I need a fancy nickname!" he adds, nodding a bit, while he listens to people.

Mikilos waves mildly at Merek's words of meeting fae. "Well, yes and no. Elves used to be fae, in the First Age. A few of us still hold scraps of the ancient magics, but it's nothing like the Immortals of old. Even the Queen of Llyranost has lost much of her power over the milliena." He nods to Ezil. "Regular fairies. Pixies, sprites, and the like. The Leaders of the fae, however, the Master of the Wild Hunt, and other such beings... are rather something different."

Merek adds, "Ah, thanks for information on fae!" He tries keeping his attention upon each. "Wild Hunt."

Kae oooohs and waggles her arms some, flailing "Yaaay! I got a greeting right!" She says cheerfully. Yes Kae's a nut, she makes noooooo lies about that one! Kae can now be seen waving back and forth, both hands over her head some, leaning this way and that, before she pputs her ands down and blinks... "Oooooooh..." She says as she looks at Miki curiously

Ezil looks to Mikilos. "Yes, what is this Wild Hunt?" he asks, his attention latching on to this conversation of fae. "So these... leaders. That is what this 'mistress' is?" letting that discussion take up his priority for now, sparing a glance between all present.

Cryosanthia returns some of Kaelyn's wild waves, gesturing her to come over and then looks around for a barrel that is unattended. She finds one within a few steps, which may be full. She rolls it on its rim back so she can sit on it. She sits, her tail stretched out behind her like a long bar, her legs folded so she is resting her feet on the barrel side, her hands clasped in her lap, leaning forward such that her back and neck are almost the same slope as her tail. A lizard in a listening 'I'm learning' pose. Aimed at Mikilos.

Mikilos considers. "I say 'leaders' as many take roles as kings or queens of the fae, ruleing over the fairies of a given area, though the role and the power aren't directly connected... as I understand. I've ran across The King of Winter at least once, though he tends more towards the fall. The Erlking, he's also known. The Master of the Wild Hunt... he hunts the Land Under the Hill, roaming his grounds with Hounds for suitable prey... usually Oathbreakers. He's... spent thousands of years honeing his craft. Very very few escape once he choses to hunt them. Best can be done, for most, is to run well and entertain him, might let you go once he catches up." Th wizard frowns, rubbing absently at his shoulder. "...don't make a vow in the Underhill you don't intend to keep. Even Demon Lords tred lightly around the Wild Hunt."

"I don't like to make a deal with any Outsider, it's not productive," Merek admits, while he listens to the conversation in thought. He nods along with Mikilos while he looks to those listening, "Fae are one of the things even we clerics don't work with a lot."

Kae blinks at Cryo curiously and moves a biiit closer? She then peers at MIki curiously and looks to the others and then rubs at her neck again and hands go to her 'hips' now... "Ummmm.... She thens hrugs and sits on her haunches and listens curiously. Ezil finds himself nodding to Mikilos and Merek. "What of the Sea of Sundered Time? Is that a place of fae? I had always thought it a magic anomaly." he asks out of the blue, speaking of The Vast.

Mikilos frowns thoughfully, almost talking to himself. "It doesn't help that they're very particular about names. Almost all use a title or description, rather than a name. Which gets complex if they share or fight over a title. And many follow trnds of fashion. If one takes a title after the type of Crown they wear, 'Queen of the Silver Crown' then many others are going to find themsevles some sort of crown as well. Give it a few centuries, and things get messy." Blinking, he looks to Ezil. "Mmm? I think that's different, a place where the edges of the universe don't meet up straight, or the like. Certainly may be fae present there, but I think in that case they're an effect, not a cause." He frowns. "I think... great deal of uncertainity all around."

"The Vast is... A kinda enigma. Not a lot looks to be known when it comes to that place," Merek admits.

The Vast, The Wild Hunt, the Erlking, the King of Winter, the Master, The Land Under the Hill. Cryo will have a challenge keeping these straight. Titles, oh, those will be fine. She smiles briefly in Kaelyn's direction, then returns to listening to Mikilos, Ezil and Merek.

Kae beams cheerfully... "I kinda finished my edjumication hanging around with Kisa in her home town!" She says cheerfully... "That and I helped out with a big airship, working on it too, we went to visit her town looooots' She says happily....

"Do... " Cryosanthia interrupts quietly, slouching forward, "Do they use titles as we sith-makar do? That it is the thing, it is you, your place in the world. It is your name and it is what you are?"

"True names work like that generally," Merek mentions to the people, while he looks to Mikilos for confirmation in that.

"Well, I think I need a drink." Ezil says, shaking his head at that bit of lore, and smiling at Merek, Mikilos, and Cryo. "It was a silly question, but it's good to have you share this." Kae's words causing him to shift towards her. "You've mentioned that to me before, Kaelyn. What did you do on this airship?" he wonders, looking back to the other three, and shifting and stretching on to his toes in place. "Do any of you know a good place for a small-beer?" looking to Cryosanthia, and raising a brow. "What do you mean, White-one? What are this sith-makar titles?"

Mikilos looks to Cryosanthia and shrugs. "I don't know. In bardic tales the name makes the thing, change the name, and change the thing. But if that's true, or just makes for a good story, I don't know." The lf glances to the sky, and sighs. "So, I'd best get back to trying to find out. i'm sure I'll find somethign of use eventually, it's just a matter of going though all the many many tales that aren't so useful."

Cryosanthia looks at Ezil then points back to Mikilos, "The thing that he said. Our names, our castes, what we call each other, that makes the thing. True Names? I guess... it is not a demon thing. A small-beer sounds very nice, right now, maybe a large-beer."

She sits up, stands, and bows to Mikilos, "Thank you for the lesson."

Merek looks then to Ezil, "I know the perfect place," he says, while he nods, standing up. He looks then to Cryosanthia, "I could use a drink, then I'll probably try to get a little napping in, then it's back to my research." He maneuvers then to stand with that armored man, adjusting his scarf. He waves also to Kae and Mikilos, "Was a nice learning experience!"

Mikilos nods, and returns the bow. "You are quite welcome. Thank you for listening as I ramble." Th elf gestures, and then, he's gone. Not even a flash of light or puff of smoke. Wizards.

Ezil smirks to Cryo and motions for her to lead the way. "Or more a strong beer for you." he muses as the conversation dies down, turning to Mikilos with a soft nod. "You've given me much to think on. I'll ask you my question some day, but for now. Beer."

Cryosanthia faces Ezil, placing her hands on his shoulders and looks down her long white arms. "You are Blessed Follower of the Stars. I am Cryosanthia the still working out what to call herself. He is Merek the Scribe, but the sith-makar call him other things that are hard to align with it, and he is Mikilos the Sa..."

And then Mikilos vanishes suddenly. Mikilos the... no. Her pupils spread wider and wider until they nearly fill her eyes, then shrink back to slits. She doesn't move the entire time.

"Y... y... yes, a beer, big beer. Let's go. T... this way, whoever wants to come."

She doesn't wait, her hands drop to her sides, and she's not running, but she's walking fast and her tail is locked stiff.

Merek will go on drinking with his companions, noting Cryosanthia's dislike of the magic. He then nods to Ezil, and pats both of them, perhaps content to be with his friends. Merek the Scribe. A simple name though... Works well.

Ezil moves to keep up with Cryo, and meet Merek for their beers, though as they near the bar he responds to the Sith-Makar's words. "Cryosanthia is a lovely name itself, but you will always be the White-one to me." he has to muse, pondering their way of names. "Though the name you have given me might be too grand." he teases, ready to end his night on a much happier note.

Kae listens, then to the folks and peers at the Sith curiously.. "Small beer is a very light beer, it's the name for the type of beer, I prefer ale though! Ale is goooood!" She says cheerfully "Cider is soo much bestest though!"

And they all leave for drinks.

Murder
This little woman before you is very obviously a gobber.
Her skin is a pale green, from the clawed toes on her feet to the tips of her very pointed ears.
Her hair is a messy nest of black, rarely seeing a brush or fingers, but it is clean at least. Her red eyes are framed by dark eyebrows above, and pale green cheeks below, with her nose being the centerpiece. For a goblin, it's rather small and dainty, very button-like. One of her cheeks sports three parallel, jagged scars, stretching from under her left eye to her left ear. Her mouth is full of razorsharp teeth, with four prominent ones that can only be fangs. Each of her pointy ears has several silver rings in them, and not a single one matches another.
Her body is short and lithe, with some good muscle tone in the abdomen, arms and legs. Several scars are apparent on her legs and arms, all of them rough and jagged, certainly not cut by anything close to a sharp blade. Each of her fingers and toes end in black claws.
The mainstay of the goblin woman's armor is a studded leather top, which is tightly wrapped about her torso just under her armpits, and a leather skirt which goes down to her knees. Added to this are sturdy leather strips wrapped around her forearms and shins. Leather also wraps about the middle of her feet, leaving the heels and toes free. Tufts of fur line the upper parts of all the leather pieces. On cold days, she wears sensible boots, and several pelts and hides of various small forest animals. For rain, she's got a leather cloak that wraps about her entirely.
