The air of solemn, heavy divinity in the area is often broken by laughter. The dual presence of the deities Althea and Daeus, man and wife, stand towards the center, with their children and their children's temples positioned around them. The presence of the divine is felt not only by their temples, but also by the actions of their worshipers. The great plaza is as a social center, paved in brilliant, white flagstones and covered in benches and sitting areas. Priests, acolytes, and servicefolk of all stripes roam the plaza, going from one task to the other.

At the front of the temples of Daeus and Althea, at the Plaza's centermost point, rests a great fountain, the cheerful waters reflecting the Sun during the day, and the Moon and Stars at night. The fountain is strategically centered, and is oft a place for wisdom and lesson-giving. It is not uncommon for a priest of some stripe or the other to stand there, surrounded by the curious and faithful, delivering messages of hope or contemplation. At other times, it and the plaza become a landscape of celebration of the holy holidays.

Few vendors are seen in the plaza--the nearby temples provide most food or services. Towards the west, the great Bridge stretches across the river, and towards the east, the Redridge mountains. The plaza rests in the midst of it all, the temples massive and grand on the Alexandrian scale.

It's a late night, one that finds a Lucht before a small vendor's stall, one who specializes in certain cuisines. Behind her, standing sentinel is a large, glossy back Huntsman spider, clad in particular tack and harness. Faran, herself, looks a little worn and, somehow a little more frzzled than in the past as she hands the Sith a small handful of coins while he is setting a courier back wafting the scent of meat on the counter before her.

Merek is walking along down the street, his attire covered in blood along with him, multiple places noticable where he was shot with what looks like arrows, mending up while he wears a beltcape with the hood up along what he's wearing.

The Lucht smiles big, but tired, to the Sith, "Thank you, have a good night!" And she shoulders the bag and turns toward her spider to begin the process of saddling up. She settles the bag to a more comfortable angle and takes up the reins before nudging Torrent with her foot to make the arachnid turn. As it does, she catches sight of the bloody figure and she has to squint to make out his condition in the lighting, "Are.... you alright?"

"I'm fine," comes the tone from Merek, the husky drawl that's known to be him to people. He then shifts the hood to look about, "I'm saying my ah... I will be away for a little while, and was planning to see people off." He then looks to the cart owner, "Do you have any food?"

Faran draws rein and looks back to him, a brow arching a touch, "What's happened?" she asks simply, then glances at the vendor, then back to Merek. She cants her head a little, a briefly faraway look touching her eye, then she rejoins the now.

Meanwhile, the Sith Makar looks expectantly, if.... uncertainly at the scab-clad man, "This one has many cuts of fine meats. What would meet your needs?"

"Taara's brought her servants to the city, a few are after me, they are looking for the shards," Merek notes then to Faran, while he nods a bit.

A frown and, "Why would they be after you?" she wonders. There's a glance about the area, though her eyes are little good in the night, and Zephyr is with helping her mother babysit. On the upside, Torrent isn't getting twitchy, yet.

Merek looks then to Faranmidahn, while he thinks about it. "Because I was looking for answers about the shards, and seeking them. There are demons," the man looks to a sour green apple drink package, as well as a blueberry one, which he purchases.

"A lot of people are looking for answers about those." Faran notes thoughtfully, then with a little shrug, "What happened to the Taarans? Where they captured?"

"No, we lost, they wanted to send a message, the few people that came to defend me were all killed," Merek notes then to Faran.

Faranmidahn closes her eyes a moment and shakes her head. The Gods will see their due. She bows her head a time, perhaps in silent prayer, then regards Merek, "There is a spell that affords one shelter in another dimension. Do you know it?"

Merek seems to think about it, "I don't use any of them at the moment, though I could travel to another of the Planes," the man notes.

"No. This creates a place. Unscryable, I believe." Faran replies, "It may be a safer option. It's beyond my ken, but you should be able to cast it, easy enough. The more senior casters amongst the Guild probably know it."

"I'n a Sorcerer, not a Wizard, I can't learn it like that without a lot of work," Merek notes, nodding a bit to Faran.

The little Knight considers that for a time, then, a nod. She cants her head again, eyes closing halfway, then, "I need to get back."

Merek nods a bit to Faran, "Alright, well you take care, it was nice to see you about."

Faranmidahn raises a hand, then, with a double tap to Torrent's sides with her feet, she spurs the spider off at a good clip into the night.
