-=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=<* A10: Temple of Daeus *>=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-

The temple of the Sun Lord glitters golden beneath the same. Rather than walls, the majority of the temple is composed of what appears at first blush to be a raised round platform made of one of the largest slabs of marble likely in existence. Columns rise into the air as if to hold some massive ceiling, though instead of a normal ceiling, one finds the deep blue sky, studded by a disconcertingly close canopy of bright stars. One should not worry, however, as the rain never falls, and the wind never blows on this particular temple, but for a gentle breeze, whatever the weather outside may be.

Despite the austerity of the columns, warmth suffuses the grounds. A grand, marble statue of the Shining Knight stands a the center, a hand outstretched in benediction. Beside Him, the statue of Althea, their hands clasped in love. The central position of the temple to the others gives view to all of their children, and the two look upon one another with the solemnity of love that has been the center of so many tales and legends.

Masterfully designed mana lamps provide further soft, golden lightning where needed, their pedestals carved in the form of the Dragons of Light, over which Daeus is said to have dominion in His form of Draco Solis. Majesty, justice, and welcome suffuse the temple grounds. Around the central temple are a series of smaller buildings, each with a simple function and form. One houses the sacred book depicting some of the earliest known translations of the Laws of Light, which pilgrims from near and far come to visit. Another houses the well-appointed quarters of the Sunguards, and among all the ground bristle the Sunblades. -=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-

It's a nice sunny day. Cold, but the sky is bright and the ice glittering, and the snow in nice looking piles. This is left outside as a white-scaled sith walks between the pillars, gazing up at the marble canopy of sky and stars inside. The warmth is unnecessary for her, but still welcome. Her eyes roam, looking at the mana lights, and the small buildings within the temple and the central statue. Clearly looking for someone, and hasn't spotted him yet. ng" WHUMP! The warrior goes rolling, having been thrown. Svarshan rolls over, up--quick to the feet and brings his arms up into a guard. Then...

Then...

Laughter breaks out, hissing laughter. Human laughter, too and the bout is over. The warrior's breath fogs in the cold, and he's dressed for sparring, unarmed.

Cryo hears the laughter, sith, then human. Her attention is drawn. She's not seen Svarshan sparring before, it is definitely a sight to see and not one she wishes to interrupt. She moves closer for a better view, stepping quietly. He might be able to scent her, although she's been unusually clean of late so her smell might be too faint, especially if he is distracted. She waits, hands clasped behind her back, tail down and contained, bouncing slightly up and down, watching.

The human walks over, and punches the sith-makar across the shoulder. Svarshan braces, and near-throws a punch back--the human dodges.

More laughter, though hissing and broken on the one end. "Ssa. We sshould do thiss. More often," the warrior says.

"We should. You almost had me there with the punch."

"One admired the turn. Then the--" a gesture of claws. The flip.

Afterwards, there is much warrior-ful nodding and thumping of tails.

Cryosanthia instinctively joins in with the tail thumping, matching the beat of Svarshans, signalling her presence, that she's there to back him up. The other subtle sith communications that happen wordlessly between them. Of course, she's also more demonstrative, perhaps for the humans, perhaps she doesn't contain herself well. She claps, cheering, "This one is impressed."

She still stands, waiting a slight distance from the fighting area, like a student waiting for teacher. A school-book or book-bag would complete the picture, but she lacks that.

By some unspoken communication, the sith-makar raises his hand upwards from the elbow. The human brings his arm around, and--seems to be demonstrating a grip on the wrist. Pressure along the back of the hand and slightly under.

Svarshan looks over to Cryo, and motions over with a jerk of the jawline. The two space apart a ways, so that Cryo can see the positioning.

As he does, Svarshan glances at the human: "One heard the Altheanss may be preparing. Krisski stew. Tonight."

"You only like it because it's spicy."

"It iss. Flavorful. Ssmall prawns."

"Roaches of the sea."

"Peasse to you, sspeaker."

"Peace upon your nest, Warrior-caste!" Cryosanthia says, moving so she can look at the wrist hold. She bobs her head to the human training partner. "Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Cryosanthia, a Speaker. I had... a personal request, but it can wait. I would not interrupt. What you're doing is neat. I like prawns too."

I'm harmless, don't mind me, seems to be subtle communication she's attempting on the human, in the way she moves, leans and looks at things. A respectful distance is kept. She makes an effort to remember to blink at him at least once. The softskins prefer when one does not stare so much.

The human looks up from the dual-grip, and grins. He's dressed for sparring, too--the two are covered in some dust. He then looks back to where he has the sith's hand gripped around his own. "See, here? If I push too much, I'd snap his wrist. Once you get someone here--they're effectively helpless. So, just push--"

Svarshan goes down, at an angle over the softskin's leg.

After a moment, the reptilian rolls back up. The two then regrip--Svarshan's forearm, hand, ending in the same position. It's more--theatric, though. The two of them too far apart for it to be effective, in order to make it easier to see.

"The choisse is good down. Or get your wrisst ssnapped. Peasse to you, sspeaker," Svarshan returns, warmly.

The softskin nods, "Peace to your nest. Sunblade Hubero. I just train here," he adds, and flashes a grin. Then seems to remember, and quickly covers the teeth.

Well, most of them. "Just wrapping up. If you two want to talk, don't mind me," Hubero says.

Cryo is okay with softskins grinning at her. She grins back. She does keep her nose dipped, so the long lines of sharp teeth up her maw aren't quite so visible and obvious, and it's a quick flash. "I see!"

"I fought with a friend. She couldn't get a hold on me. I couldn't grab her either, so she punched me in the face a few times. Thanks for the demonstration, Sunblade Hubero, I appreciate it!"

She's making an effort to clumsily copy the hold in empty air, the imaginary wrist a little too long unless she's fighting spiders.

The palescale looks at Svarshan, "Mostly just a little thing, some more info."

The sith-makar tilts his head to the side. Quiet, quiet. Then--oh. The inner lids flicker, drawing back. Svarshan raises a hand, and waves to the other Sunblade--and then turns more fully to fall in step with Cryo.

"Sshe could not?" he asks, sounding interested. Yet, flickers a look out at the courtyard. Let's walk, that says.

"She couldn't! I'm wriggly. My rapier is very flexible and I use it to bat things away, I was able to do that to her grabs with my hands. Similar movements, just not as far. She was really hard to grab though, I had to fake a movement, and that let me get a strike in. Then... I slipped and hurt my tail, so we stopped. I could show you sometime. Although, I think Hubero is way better." Cryo explains.

"I came to speak about, well, more demons, and maybe the Iron book."

OOC Notes for Ezil

<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "It won't stop me getting in with performers and other things right, at the theatre?"
<OOC> Svarshan chinscratches.
<OOC> Svarshan says, "So--advancing fully in an org is an Exclusive spend. This is bc it grants a lot of benefits. But--there's lower levels of membership, too."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Sec."
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "I am reading, unlimited... limited membership, and exclusive
<OOC> Svarshan wrote up a new system that would handle this better, but. MUXcode. >.>
<OOC> Svarshan rar. :3
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods
<OOC> Svarshan says, "So Unlimited--that usually means 'take as many as you want, up to the limit imposed by the RPP spend.' Unlimited spends don't interfere with one another."
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "Those also are free? No RPP?
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Limited is, has a couple tiers, T1 & T2, 5 RPP"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Then there is Exclusive"
<OOC> Svarshan is checking and typin'.
<OOC> Svarshan says, "In this case--Casual Member (Unlimited type) has a limit of 1. Which--usually it's 'no limit' or 'up to 3.' It grants no benefits, other than well, if there are any exclusive MIs and the like, you'd have access. And in legwork, you can claim to know them, and they know you."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "They're a little inclined to do a mild favor now and then, or let you access a modest library. It's like having a membership to the gym and visiting twice a year or so. Or after holidays."
<OOC> Cryosanthia does that... :)
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Limited RPP spends are always, 'pick one of this type.' But!"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Aspects are Limited type, and are a good example."
<OOC> Svarshan rechecks.
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Wait, no. Casual does not grant you the library/mi thing."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "...but it is a social contact."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Limited Membership does. It also gives you a skill boost. It's like a gym membership where you volunteer occasionally. So they know you, and want to shake your hand. They're genuinely glad to see you and would like you to be more involved."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "The Exclusive option grants you benefits on par with other Exclusive RPP spends."
<OOC> Svarshan would advise Limited if she's serious about the order, or Casual if she just wants a little social contact. >.>
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods
<OOC> Svarshan apologizes. XD I know it's a little goofery.
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "No worries. Thinking"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "There's no need to decide just atm. In fact... <checks>"
<OOC> Svarshan has this bonus: ou work within an organization who values mentorship. Anyone you mentor may become an active member within your organization for 5 RPP, or a sworn one for free. In addition, you receive a 5 RPP bonus which may be spent on any spend of your choosing. If the trainee is at least 1 level tier lower than you, you both also receive the value of a PrP at your level. Level 20 PCs receive a slightly reduced award, as they are basically at the end of their leveling.
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Basically, Sworn would be free, and she'd get a PrP bonus, besides."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Character wise, I do want to do theatre things later, although I don't know how much of an organization or benefit it is, plus any Secret Spy Seeker stuff that is available. Oh neat!"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Mostly this is there are a lot of demons around and she is starting to want to have someone to go to about them,"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Org is one of the better spends ingame. She could pick Theatre District as an org, or Speaker Caste, too."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Maybe encourage Ezil to make the contact for her. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Also Ezil wants to join more seriously. She's mostly doing it as a support thing."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "A lot of folks go for AW, but if you dig into it, Org is strong, esp at higher tiers. It has self-benefits, and a lot of capability for helping others, too."
<OOC> Svarshan nodnods.
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "AW?"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Ancestral Weapon."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "It is shiny. XD"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Ah! It is."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "I can't really imagine having one though."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Influence is pretty decent. Blood Pact is self-power giving light to a story. <.<"
<OOC> Svarshan rar. :3
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Org eventually gives you an escape button/recall ability. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Even actors? That's a really long stage hook."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Effectively, it is a 400g teleport button that only goes a few places. And hrm."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Maybe for them it's a 'escape the adoring crowds' button. XD"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "But, it's optional: one of the Token spends."
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods
<OOC> Svarshan says, "So, maybe something else fits, more. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "So, it sounds like... Cryo should, because of Svarshan's benefits, join as sworn but not active, or that would lock her out of other things later?"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Influence is being very social, and v good within a geographic area. It might actually fit Cryo pretty well--I /think/ you eventually gain the ability to transfer some of those social bonuses when you've had time to 'case' a populated area."
<OOC> Svarshan handwobbles.
<OOC> Svarshan says, "She can get 1 Casual, 1 Sworn org. Honestly--I'd just go Casual (Iron Book), and do Sworn (Speaker Caste)."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "The influence and good within an area is what I'm imagining, more than shiny equipment. Yes, that sounds right."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "...then debate Influence or Organization for the Theatre District. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "AHH! Ok!"
<OOC> Svarshan :D
<OOC> Svarshan says, "DnD had no way to track this stuff. ^^;"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "F'example: http://tenebraemush.net/index.php/Influence_Spends"
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "Yeah, well, it was up to the GM. The other RP places I've been, never had something this organized, it was 'tell the wizzes, hope they remember'
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Yeah. It makes it awkward with more than 1 GM. ^^;"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Also, rewarding folks for helping others is important. All of the higher-tier spends reward you for RPing with others to help them on a similar journey. >.>"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "We had to coordinate a lot, or argue, or leave notes. I think there was a way to write invisible stuff on the player objs too."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "There is. But--that system doesn't tend to have a search/summary. ^^;"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Check out the Limited spend on Influence. :3 It might be better for Speaker Caste."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Ha! T5 social rival."
<OOC> Svarshan devised an easier way to do this and track it across game. But, you do lose the individual flavor-abilities. So--I guess it would depend on game size. ^^;
<OOC> Svarshan nodnods.
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Hmm..."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "No need to focus on it just yet. ^^;"
<OOC> Svarshan says, "I mean: Easy Friends: After spending 4 hours in an area, greasing palms and generally getting to know the locals, you may temporarily apply the benefits of either Local Voice or Knowing Your Way to the area for up to one week. Only one such area may be designated in this way at a time. The DM has final say."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "T6. :3"
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "Influence does look cool.
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Oh that is cool."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Is fun. :3"
<OOC> Svarshan :D
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "That sounds totally Cryo."
<OOC> Svarshan :D
<OOC> Svarshan was thinking maybe. ^^;
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods, "Well Casual IB sounds good, and Cryo can update on what new things she's found out, which is somewhat limited but possibly interesting.
<OOC> Svarshan rar. :3
<OOC> Svarshan says, "Casual makes it easy to upgrade a thing later. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Or talking with Svarshan and getting encouraged to have Ezil do it all, something."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "If the char takes an unexpected direction. And rar. :3"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Is it changeable if I want to do something else? Worried about closing off directions too early."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "You can, sure."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "I think RPP spends transfer at 1 tier lower."
<OOC> Svarshan says, "The only exception is AW, because...AW would just be a mess to unravel. ^^;"
<OOC> Cryosanthia nods! Okay, Yeah. I saw that warning on it.
<OOC> Svarshan rar. :3 It's Gilday, Pryntar 26 15:21:49 1022. The full moon isn't up. The tide is low and slack. Fair weather clouds drift through the blue sky from the west, along with the wind. The sunlight on the snow is dazzling, and it gleams on the ice.
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "So, I should scene-pose in arriving?"
