The statue brings the blazing energy end down towrads Hun'rar, who is able to narrowly get out of the way in time. It leaves black tracers in the sky in its slow descent.

Constantin starts leaping towards the giant shard, hoppnig from island to island, carefully.

Serraphine turns and looks off toward the other spear - in time to see if destroyed by a companion - and so she's looking for what next. "Uuuugh! Why can't we just be done with this?!" She starts toward one of the statues, stalking off toward it as she brings the weapon up over head. She brings it down and... whiffs. Entirely missing it. She squints, "Stay still!"

It is now Kore's turn! Morgan is next!


"The island is crumbling! Forget the statues!" KOre has a length of rope out, and she's gesturing animatedly for the rest of the group to head for a nearby floating shard she is pointing at. The Monk is standing beside the statues but- largely ignoring them. She's too busy encouraging people to jump. "If you're worried grab onto the rope! If you fall, I'll catch you. Just go. //Now!//"

Kore, of course, does not follow her own advice. Yet.

Morgan lifts off the ground as she moves over "I so love to fly." With that she touches Kore giving a surge of energy "come to me when you want a belt that does this all the time."

Hun'rar focuses, calling on the divine judgement of Gilead to be drawn down on the evil within the shard. "I will purge this evil, Animus is neither and your evil will not corrupt what is left of him."

Seeing her allies hurt, Sasha calls upon her goddess' mercy to heal their wounds. She hopes it's enough..

Iskandar glances at Kore and the offered rope. He flashes a grin. You can almost hear his thoughts, 'Where would be the fun in that?' Then he launches himself into a sprint, leaping at the last moment and clearing the space to land solidly on the next shard. He quickly knocks an arrow and then almost as quickly releases. The arrow streaks across the maelstrom and smacks into the central shard.

The great wings, all the sets of them, grow more of those great, ebony spears with the blazing tips of aman and a single great f lap sends them homingoutwards, seeking their targets. Another strikes at Morgan, gashing her, leaving her narrowly escping with her life and another glances off Iskandar's armor, while the last slams into Sasha. The prayers of foreign Gods are not welcome here in this power of one fallen.

When they are done, they again sink into the earht of the platform Kore and Iskandar are on. Better get that out quick...

The statue acts as if to take a great breath, but what it is inhaling is power, tainted with black.

You're exposing the corruption, yes, forcing more of it into the open as it draws in on itself.. But that is probably a small comfort as it prepares to launch some kind of attack.

Another statue climbs up from the earth, forming from crystal, blacker than before, its features disfigured. Two of them, actually. One upon the island that some of you still dwell on, and another on the island where Kore and Iskandar have moved.

Morgan starts to fly towards a empty island away from evil golems of a dead god. "I am suprised some one else has not come here to do this the same thing before." 5 blue darts lash out hitting the main shard "Well that looks helpfull

As she sees the Island crumble, Sasha touches her medallion and she is granted a pair of glowing wings. Once they're fully deployed, she flys off of the island...and stays in flight.

Iskandar shifts his attention as a new shard-statue rises up on the platform where he joined Kore. He punches it repeatedly. He knows that punching solid crystal would risk injuring his own hand. Instead angling his swings so that his knuckles make gouging impacts that chip away at it.

Another flap of the wings generates more spears. They lash out, this time towards Sasha and Kore and Iskandar. One misses Shasa. The spears are getting blacker, too, as the corruption within is boiling towards the surface, the statue itself seeming to develop deeper, blacker veins.

Constantin interposes his shield in front of the rising statue. He swings wildly the first time, blade turning in his hand, then recovers. The next time, he just slams the pommel into one of the cracks of the statue, sending cracks spidering through it before exploding it in a shower of crystals!

The island you inhabited previously finally explodes... then sort of.. implodes? The stones adn crystal composing it draw together into a blackening stone that seems to begin changing in and of itself.

Serraphine was doing her best to ry and move from platform to platform, destroying things as she went. After all, they had to defeat this creature before them before it got too the Shard of the Animus -- or corrupted too much of it. The wings let loose their spears and the Arvek frowned (more than usual), "Someone gimme a lift!" She called out, running and jumping toward another platform, trying to get closer to the wings, "I wanna take a chunk out of those wing things."

Kore is clutching the spear, struggling with it, but then she abrutly goes slack. She looks up, toward the center of the conflict, those blue eyes of hers going wide. And she stare, her mout hfalling open, lips formed into an 'o' of surprise. She looks as if she'd been surprised by something truly terrible. A ghost would not be enough to explain that slowly creeping look of terror on her dark features.

Morgan moves towards "Ok you can fly." as she gives Serphine the energy. "Just think happy toughts and you will fly."

Iskandar sinks to one knee, head sinking at the attack. But almost as quickly Sasha's healing magic washes over him. He struggles back to his feet. Perhaps his brush with disability left him lightheaded and he misses Kore's struggles with the spear. Or perhaps he's trying to watch out for Serraphine who's now flying ahead of them. Well except for Hun'rar he's been ahead for some time now, for all the good it's done. Ahem. In any event Iskandar sends a flurry of arrows at the wings, once again chipping away rather than doling out massive harm.

The wings flare for a moment. Seems they need time to generate new spears.

This is followed by the shard spreading its arms wide, gathering energy now in the palms of both hands, black-veined orbs of energy forming at each.

Constantin leaps upwards, scrambling onto the next platform. His shield comes up to interpose as he finds his feet, getting stable in order to strike future blows.

Remember how that crumbled island pulled into a ball of stone and crystal?

Guess what! Thata stone adn crystal has now shaped itself into a mirrored, humanod shaped mass of polished obsidian.

Serraphine, looked up at Morgan - a relative deadpan look - clearly the joke must have gone over her head as she instead just leaps out and trusts that her teammate hasn't lied. The spell catching her and helping her accelerate up to try and slice at the wings... And takes her right passed them as she whiffs with her blade, leaving not a scratch in her wake. "This is a lot faster than it looks from on the ground."
