Iskandar steps into the temple, his eyes turning quickly to scan the room before they fix upon the swordsman. "Oinig, I presume?" He walks forward, but at an angle that leaves him a bit spread out from the rest of the party. Some instinct telling him not to stay grouped too closely. "We've been looking for you for ages."

"Was this the guy with the whole airship that we followed into that tavern and then to Vandalheim?" Serraphine is scratching at her chin now as she heads over toward Oinig - holding her sword in her free hand. She tilts her head and glances off toward Iskandar, "Or was that someone different? Either way... This is the person we're here for, right?" She points at him with her sword.

"Surrender." The Arvek frowns.

"Hm, no. I don't believe I will," says Oinig, turning to face the lot of you.

His stance is one belonging to a... very accomplished swordsmen. He smiles.

He smiles big.

Iskandar readies an arrow. But the way he edges forward, one half-step at a time, indicates that he'd much rather fight hand to hand. "Oh come now, Oinig. You see how many of us there are, how we're armed. You must know what we did to your followers, your tower. There's no shame in choosing life over death, or worse - an ignominous defeat."

Morgan sighs "When will we ever have a adventure where we do a tickle fight to defeet the badguy. I would even like to see one done with a game of cards." she sighs as she gets some spell ideas to toss at this guy."

Sasha keeps towards the back. She looked very tired.

"He won't surrender. We get into a dramatic fight and have to carry him back. This is all very predictable," Kore will murmur o the person nearest her. She breathes a soft sigh. "Sometimes,I wish people would skip the middle step and just return peacefully."

"You're making one very important mistake," says Oinig to Kore, casually, since he apparently has sharp enough ears to hear her.

"But, if they skip the middle step, then we still have to carry them." Serraphine glances to Kore and then gives a shrug, "Shouldn't we just hope that they just decide to surrender and walk back with us?" Serraphine shrugs and digs into her pouch for a cookie.... damn it. Still out. Another sigh. "Well, this won't work. You either surrender or we have to take you by force." She adds to Oinig. "So... pick one."

"I wouldn't worry about carrying him back," Iskandar says confidently. "He doesn't look that heavy. And most of my arrows are stuck in the bodies of his men, so my load's lighter anyway."

"Perfect. Thank you for volunteering," Kore replies to Skandar. She gives hima small bow.

Morgan is tired of this as she stands waiting for the fight "be carefull I bet he absorbed a lot of power here and his hits will hurt a lot more then normal and will take a lot of dammage also."

"The mistake you're all making is thinking you'd beat me, anyway. And my men? Did you miss the part where I was busy torturing one?" He lets out a quick, bitter laugh.

"But I can not let you stop me. I am compelled, not only to victory, but to greatness." He draws his blade, holding it out towards you in a left-handed stance.

"EN GARDE."

Iskandar inches closer, closer...when he sees an opening - or at least he thinks he does, he dashes forward. Iskandar angles to come in at Oinig on his side and force the swordsman to divide his attention between Iskandar himself, and the rest of the party. He shifts his bow aside and spins to punch him. But the enemy knocks his blow aside and then stabs him through the wrist, forcing him to drop the bow and arrow. Iskandar grits his teeth and draws back slightly, opening and closing his injured hand to test that the fingers still move. "You are fast," he remarks to Oinig.

Kore advances on Oinig in a flurry of kicks and punches. Amazingly, the Swashbuckler is able rto keep up, twirling awayy from some of the blows and then rebounding back into range. He blocks a kick, then dodges a punch, onl to catch a roundhouse that staggers him backward, not much worse for the wear.

Iskandar shakes the last of the sting out of his hand and then circles Oinig again. Trying to position himself opposite the newly arrived Serraphine, so the two can hopefully pin Oinig between them. "The joke's on you," he says, unperturbed. "I'd be honored to be as skilled a martial artist as her." He leaps forward, one leg moving forward as if to kick - but it's only a feint. The leg instead shoots backwards, for leverage, and perhaps balance, as he smashes the fist on that side forward in a powerful lunging punch.

He moves like lightning.

The rumors of his danger were not exagerated. He swiftly, with dizzying fitwork, slashes at Serraphine twice, slicing through her armor with precise strikes with his rapier before striking Iskandar once, the gauntlet only barely deflecting his second strike before he whirls and delivers a lightning-fast, well placed strike to Kore's side.

Serraphine grunts and nods her thanks to Sasha as the woman heals her wounds again. "You hit like a foal! I wrestle hyenas, you will need to do better than that." She gives a grimace and cuts back down at him once more before giving herself a smack on the forehead which seems to have some form of healing property.

Serraphine gives a scratch at her chin now that the cultists have been stopped. She wipes off the edge of her blade before sliding it back into the sheath and heads toward the cultist that Oinig was previously torturing.

Serraphine kneels down, checking to see if they were still alive, and if they were - well - a little Lay on Hands ought to help bring them around, "I have some questions about what you were looking for here..." She grimaces at them.

With the hold person going into place Kore advances on theswordsman. She knocsk the sword aside to skitter across the cobbles as he stands there, hand sill outstretched, in the midst of a stride. "You have been met. You have been measured. And you have been found wanting." SHe reaches out then, wrapping a small hand about the man's throat- part way, as her fingers won't go th whole way round. As a thumb depresses an arteryshe draws him closer with her free hand. It's seconds before the Monk Throws oinig up over her shoulder. "Tie him up. Let's be on our way..."

Once all of this is done Kore'll toss the fallen Oinig to Iskandar. As was agreed.

... a short time later, the cultist that he was torturing s ort of looks up at the lot of you.

"...hey... uh.. Sooo..."

And Oinig is soon stirring with a groan.

"... I should have gone with my right hand," he mutters.

Iskandar helps divest Oinig of everything that could be remotely magical. He leaves him wearing his armor, but boots, belts, rings, and on on and. Somewhere in the lpocess he ties Oinig up. And then hoists him. As the swordsman stirs, Iskandar calls out to the other to alert them. Then he looks at Oinkg and asks the first question. "What's this about a geas?"

GAME: Serraphine rolls diplomacy: (4)+10: 14

Serraphine, after having used her lay on hands to help the once tortured man gives a frown and starts to scratch at her chin. She gives a slow nod of her head and a tilt of it to the side, "Whelp, can't much help with that right now. But, I do have some pretty good cookies to go with that bit of healing. Just tell us what we need to know, and we'll tell the constable you were cooperative." She rummages around in her bag of never ending....

Never ending...

Ahhh verdamn it, she was out of cookies.

Oinig just stares blankly at Serraphine.

"...ma'am, you'll forgive me for being a bit confused, but you do know we're in the middle of a collapsing pocket plane being destroyed and corrupted by abyssal energies filled to the brim with cultists and demons who're trying to acquire a powerful magical artifact, a piece of a God itself, and you're...worried about cookies."

He blinks up at her.

"I have been defeated by the mad. Unfortunate. And magic, pshaw." he lets out a sigh, glaring at Morgan.

The cultist sits up, his wounds slightly mended. "The Shard of Animus. We've befen using Asumit's demons to weaken the bonds preventing us from gaining access. Between that and the abyssal energies, we have a shot to acquire it, but then you all arrived chasing /this/ idiot."

"Did they? Or did I leave a wonderful trail of crumbs, oh so carelessly, for them to find me because your master has me compelled to assist him? I may be a monster -- correction I *am* a monster -- but I do not much care for demons."

Iskandar rubs his beard. The plot thickens! He looks frok the cultist to Oinig and back. "Perhaps we are more alike than it would seem. We also do not much care for demons." He peers at Oi nig again. "You may have helped to foil their master, whether that was really your intention or not."
