  • Title: Colosseum: Wrestling Wednesday!
  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Thurid, Venom, Mercy, Kira
  • Place: A03: The Colosseum
  • Time: Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 6:45 PM
  • Summary: It's Open Mat Wrestling at the Colosseum. As part of the friendly competition that has been going all week, Wednesday was dedicated to wrestling. After the professionals finished, the opportunity for amateurs to walk up and try is offered. Thurid, Cleric of Angoron, and Venom, a lurky type join and are teamed together. They are given brown wrestling masks to wear, and face off against a turquoise team of humans. It starts with Thurid and Man Roar grappling, with the Jotun taking the advantage. As the match progresses, Jeneura gets increasingly desperate and finally jumps into the ring. Venom was waiting, and the two women clash near the edge while the original pair keep trying to get advantage. Just as it seems the match might be over, Lars, the announcer interferes with the ref, adds a mud pit to the match, and generally distracts the Arvek from her duties. Jeneura uses it to cheat some more, while Thurid, expressing her frustration, convinces Man Roar to give up. Lars reads the wind and declares team 'Lurid Venom' to be the victors.

Crafted largely of stone, the Colosseum sits heavily in the midst of the district. Effectively a giant arena, seats form its sweeping sides like the forefront of a great stage. At its center is a stained, stone floor. Each end is overseen by the opposing statues of Kor and Angoron, their arms raised and each holding weapons in gestures of triumph. Staged at a crossroads, their stone gazes stand in eternal challenge over the battlefield floor. Angoron's statue appears to have something of a smirk, opposing Kor's dreadful scowl.

Construction here is on the massive scale. The Arena's stone form was carried piece by piece from the Redridge. Borne on the shoulders of ancient oruch and formed by the tireless hands of the khazad, it is second to none in ancient craftsmanship. Old tribal and clan symbols, nearly worn away, reveal themselves when blood and sweat pools in their minor crevices. Their unusual display brings to life, if only for moments, memories of warrior traditions past. It is for this reason the Arena serves as a diplomatic grounds for some cultures, as well as sport and competition.

Beneath the arena's stage are preparation rooms for competitors, and retiring areas for the wounded. Here, warriors are tended to by aids and medics, by coaches and priests. Tarianic laughter echoes from the chambers on the Angorite side. These unseen areas run alongside a cleverly, khazad-designed system to flood the arena's floor for certain performances. When flooded, the arena draws waters from the nearby Tornmawr. During these occasions anything is possible, as even the Nar-Sektoth have been known to visit from far off Am'shere, and display their powers beneath the gods' banners.

The encircling seats provide a grand view, while vendors often walk the aisle ways between, selling food or taking bets. Clear as blood is the single, red line drawn down the arena's center between the twin statues, daring an opponent to cross.

"Welcome Wrestling Fans! To the second event of the day, The Open Mat contest!"

It has been a long day. The professionals have been showing off their pankraton and wrestling, competing for kudos and laurels, representing Kor and Angoron and generally being entertaining. Some things were thrown, some furniture bent, and the gorgeous bodies were all well oiled up and impressive.

The announcer, a blond and charming sort struts back and forth with a magically enhanced voice. He's been working hard but seems enthusiastic and ready to go. His assistants, all lovely women, act as the referees and occasionally as bouncers or seconds.

"Step up and sign up!" Lars gestures at the waiting staff, "Indicate your preference, a solo match or tag team, we'll be starting soon."

Thurid has been in the stands for part of the day, though she has been on call to mend the occasional sprain or strain injury the professionals manage to give one another from time to time. But this is what she has been waiting for. She makes her way down from the stands, to put her name down to participate in the open mat- with no preference given to tag team or solo.

With that done, she heads back to the preperation area to change into something a bit more suitible for wrestling than a skirt. She emerges not long after in clean linen chestwrap and loincloth, and waits for her turn to be called to the mats.

This has been somewhat educational, to a certain extent.

After watching the demonstrations from the stands for the majority of the duration, Venom now rises to the invitation and steps down to the grounds proper to try and gain a more... concrete understanding of the fundamentals. She joins what queue has spawned in the interum and from within her veil, considers the other potential participants. Her registration consists of a small handwritten note:

Venom

No preference

With whatever reaction that gets behind her, the veiled one makes some pains in the staging area to get somewhat more grapple-friendly... again, to a certain extent. She's left her poncho and weapons belts with her veil, though this is replaced by a linen from crown to collar that bares only a narrow strip of fair skin around dark eyes. Otherwise, she is clad in soft leather, scuffed and weathered from likely hard wear.

The registration agent is an Arvek Nar, unusual in the brightness of her skin. She's largely orange, with yellows and reds as some additional skin-shades, and the build of a brawler. She has the grin of a brawler too, and while she isn't missing teeth, some aren't original but instead are gold, and for one minor tusk, inset with a ruby.

It's her job to assess the applicants capabilities, then randomly assign them with each other. Venom is directed over to Thurid, and the hobgoblin gives a thumbs up. "Good Luck. Fight hard. Either of you want a mask?"

Because masks are cool, sometimes magical and a few people don't want to be recognized or get scratches on their face.

Thurid looks towards her partner, and offers her a bright grin in greeting. "Hey there. Thurid." she offers one of her hands to shake the linen-wrapped competitor, and her assigned team-mate. "Aren't you hot in that?" she wonders casually. Of course, the opposite argument could be made for her outfit.

She turns towards the Arvek, and ponders a moment, before nodding her head, "Sure, I'll take a mask." she says then. The one she receives is brown leather with bright white stitching and ribbing, particularly around the eyes. She laces it up on the back of her head as she waits for their turn to fight.

Venom looks to her assigned partner, nods once, then turns to the Arvek's question. Maybe to better fit in, maybe to keep her bandages from unravelling, she nods again to the mask question. That done, she turns to her partner again and offers a hand to shake.

Masks are handed over, as it is tag teams and the wrestlers are strangers, the masks match so Venom receives a brown leather with bright white stitching. The geometric patterns are different, but the two are clearly related.

The opposing team receives their masks, theirs are turquoise with amethyst stitching and panels around the eyes and mouth for emphasis. Both look capable, both are wearing loose pants with a top, although it fits the shorter man much better. He seems rather comfortable. His partner, a taller woman, looks a lot more muscular but not as tough. She looks like someone who breaks knees for a living, or for fun, but isn't that adept at it.

The fiery orange Arvek sets the rules, "Bell goes, one of you gets in. Tag your partner, you swap. Bell goes, stop."

Seems like there should be a few more rules. Oh well. She steps back.

>>DING<<

Thurid grasps the hand and squeezes firmly- although she knows her own jotunborn strength and doesn't crush it, it's just a very firm handshake. And then she turns her attention back towards the ring as their competition approaches. She strides up to it, and slides into the ring when the bell is rung.

She adopts a low stance, feet planted firmly and hands apart as she eyes up the compeition for the time being, pacing back and forth a little, she gestures threateningly, as though trying to psych her opponent out- but the bright smile that remains visible despite her mask undermines the effort.

Venom flickers a glance at their opponents, appraisingly from crown to toe, then turns to the Arvek's voice as she gives the instructions. A more considered nod, dark eyes half lidding, then she turns to face her large partner. She watches her move, too, into the ring, even as she assumes the proscribed position on the boundry per the rules. She then starts to rock her head side to side, popping her neck, shoulders, knuckles, et all in preparation.

"Lurid!" Declares the Fiery Arvec, as the Jotun enters the ring, "with her teammate Venom, fighting..." She pauses, looks at the male of the other pair, "Seriously?"

He nods.

"Opposing 'Man Roar' and his teammate Jeneura"

Man Roar enters the ring, returning a simple smile to Thurid.

"Lurid Venom vs Man Roar Jeneura!"

Opponents have started just outside of each other's reach.

Venom watches this proceed, her head tilting a little bit at the naning combinations. There's a little huff from her nose, and some shaking in her shoulders, but her eyes never lose her opponents.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb: (20)+6: 26

Thurid rolls her shoulders, and slaps her hands together, before lunging at her opponent, Man Roar. She reaches towards him, grabbing one of his arms and yanking him towards her. She hooks her other arm around his neck, pulling him tight against her and lets out a whoop of joy.

Jeneura paces, watching Man Roar more Man Whimper and get grabbed.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+5: (14)+5: 19

Man Roar stands there like an iron rod planted in the earth as Thurid grabs him. Her movement was perfect and he was easily overwhelmed, but not easily held. The man slips and does a reversal on the Jotun, repositioning to take control.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb: (17)+6: 23

Thurid is not easily held either, she lurches back to create a little space between herself and her oponent, and then reaches to wrap both arms around his midsection and pull him in tight once again, still grinning from ear to ear.

Jeneura is crouched, ready, moving from side to side and watching as the reversal is reversed. She resorts to an old standby, shouting, "Try punching her in the face!"

Venom keeps ready to spring into action should the conditions be met. She notes the interaction between the two combatants, then looks accross the ring at her counterpart and unleashes a shrill whistle, poiting at her, then bringing a finger to where her mouth would be.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "another 'become controlling' attempt"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+5: (11)+5: 16

Man Roar is squeezed, attempting to take control again with an armbar across the throat and pulling himself up. He almost succeeds, but can't quite wiggle free of Thurid's hug.

Venom, perhaps to reinforce the point, slams a fist into her palm. That done, her eyes turn to her partner for signs she wants her to swap out.

<OOC> Thurid says, "I'll maintain the grapple, and move us both to a prone position."
GAME: Thurid rolls cmb+5: (12)+6+5: 23

Thurid squeezes harder against the man's torso, and with s grunt of effort lifts him off the ground, before turning to the side and slamming him down to the mat along with her. She begins to scramble to try and position herself ontop of him now they are both on the mat, and leverage her superior weight to her advantage.

"I said punch her!" Jeneura yells again.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "I believe you have AC5, -2 for being grappled, -4 for prone, normally AC11 Thurid"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-4: (7)+-4: 3

Man Roar offs as he is thumped on the mat, then moves like an iron bar with a loud Kiii-yurrrgh and a punch that should get Thurid's attention. Except, flattened beneath the Jotun, he really can't get the leverage.

He misses.

Venom rolls her shoulders as her counterpart mouths off again, but, it seems her partner has this well in hand.

<OOC> Thurid says, "I'll roll to maintain the grapple again, and this time attempt to pin."
<OOC> Thurid says, "I believe I'm at +5 for being in control, but -4 for being prone?"
GAME: Thurid rolls cmb+5-4: (8)+6+5+-4: 15

Thurid lurches to the side as the punch comes at her and he misses. She finishes scrambling ontop of the man, laying across his chest, she reaches out to grap ahold of his leg and she pulls it up into the air, her considerable weight directly ontop of his chest and one of his arms, pinning him uncomfortably against the mat.

"Reach out! Tag me in!" Jeneura is leaning towards Man Roar.

Pinned, he doesn't have a lot of options. Man Roar foregoes trying to wriggle free and manages to extend his foot and a toe-pinkie.

Mercy wanders into the colloseum. Looking curious.

Venom narrows her eyes a little bit at this development, then eyes Jeneura, tensing within her leathers in preparation. If there's any temptation from the other woman to jump in and interfere, it would be now, and so she makes ready to interceded, should it become necessary.

Kira walks into the colloseum, a bit surprised by the activity. There are often people training, and there wsa the recent ... contest, but this seems a bit busier than normal. She ventures closer to the activity with some curiosity, nearly-empty basket of bread slung over her shoulder.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb+5-4: (9)+6+5+-4: 16
GAME: Thurid rolls 1d3+3: (2)+3: 5 (Non Lethal)

"One!" The orange Arvek calls, starting to count 'Man Roar' out.

Thurid spies that foot snaking towards his partner, but she won't let ManRoar off that easy. She rolls back, pressing his face down into the mat and twisting his leg further towards her, pulling it almsot flat against his body and bracing it against her chest, stepping the pin up from merely uncomfortable to outright painful.

"Tag!" Jeneura yells, charging onto the mat and making a pretense of slapping at Man Roar's foot. Her real intention is a bull rush to knock the Jotun off her underwhelming partner.

Except Venom was ready for that...

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Okay. So! You get the first Bull Rush roll"
<OOC> Venom says, "cmb roll"
GAME: Venom rolls cmb: (8)+5: 13

As if a spring held under tension and suddenly released, Venom surges into the ring on the false 'tag' in a rush. She hits the woman rather forcefully, considering their relative sizes, staggering the woman back, but Jeneura may not be so easily thwarted.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+4+2: (11)+4+2: 17

Jeneura's intention is strong, but her footwork is weak and she's unable to get traction. Venom successfully shoves her almost all the way to the edge of the ring.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "He tries Stunning Fist again!"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-4: (13)+-4: 9
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Fort Save DC12 Thurid please."
GAME: Thurid rolls fort: (19)+5: 24

Man Roar's legs are hurting, and his partner was no help. A deep rumble comes from the man, a low humming that builds to... yes... a roar. His fist lashes out, snapping Thurid on her forehead.

Which does not so much ring her bell as hurt his fist.

"Two!" The fiery referee calls.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Same as the last round, maintain pin and deal nonlethal."
GAME: Thurid rolls cmb+5-4: (9)+6+5+-4: 16
GAME: Thurid rolls 1d3+3: (1)+3: 4 (Non Lethal)

Thurid barely flinches as the fist strikes her in the brow, and she repays the effort by redoubling her own. She braces one foot against the mat and wrenches his leg towards her, "Tap out!" she growls, though her expression is still bright- not angered by the blow, nor his companions untimely entrance into the arena, merely enjoying the thrill of the struggle.

GAME: Venom rolls cmb: (14)+5: 19

Venom , exploiting what remains of her previous momentum, tries to hug the larger woman's arms to her side, her trailing foot, that bracing her position, shifts slightly on the ball in preparation to the next stage of her takedown. As Jeneura tries to throw her higher center of gravity against her, Venom's foot pushes off as she leans to one side, hooking the back of her knee and torquing enough to bring them both to the mat.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "she tries to take control of the grapple"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+4: (1)+4: 5 (EPIC FAIL)
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "I'm... going to count that as you surprise winning a grapple roll"

Jeneura is clearly used to dealing with people who don't know how to fight back and are intimidated by her size and strength. All this fails her, and she is easily brought down. Her effort to take control of the hold somehow putting her on her back. At least she took the shorter woman to the ground with her.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "He attempts to free himself."
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-1: (18)+-1: 17

Man Roar is clearly overwhelmed by the Jotun woman but refuses to tap out. He too seems to be enjoying the struggle. Somehow, unbelieveably, he twists and he's out of it, managing to slide himself away from Thurid.

The referee slows, waiting to see if Thurid gets him under control again before continuing or restrating her count.

<OOC> Thurid says, "I'll attempt to re-establish the grapple."
GAME: Thurid rolls cmb-4: (8)+6+-4: 10

The man's leg proves harder to grip as fingers tire and become slick with sweat from the struggling, and sure enough ManRoar manages to writhe free from Thurid's grip. As he slides away, she makes an attempt to get back ontop of him, but he's too quick for her and she ends up having to give up on the attempt, panting for breath as he manages to put some distance between them.

<OOC> Venom says, "establishing dominance. >:) Guess i'll try to pin, though seriously"
GAME: Venom rolls cmb+5-4: (17)+5+5+-4: 23

Venom rather thought the burly woman would have given her more trouble. As her struggles instead seem more fitful spasm than assertive tactics, the silent woman twines her legs to lock up those of the larger other and, fists full of wrists, forces Jeneura's arms to cross her chest and be held firm there. All of this is all well and good, but she doesn't realize her partner's lost the advantage...

It may be that the Luchador Grappling Masks aren't really magic, they simply make everyone who wears them a little nuts and a little scary, so they can threaten without the feats. An infectious insanity.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "She goes for a break free, which will be difficult"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-2: (3)+-2: 1

Jeneura is locked up and locked down. She can't move. She really can't move. She's a little startled at how quickly she went down. She calls for help. "MAN ROAR! Over HERE!"

It gets the ref's attention. So she starts a count, "One!"

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "He does not stand, he tries to pin Thurid instead."
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+1: (10)+1: 11

Standing would waste time, and the Jotun is halfway to where she needs to be, which is pinned on her back. Man Roar grabs her arm and twists as he shoves his feet under her to flip her like a pancake.

She stays put like a moose. His move fails.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb-4: (6)+6+-4: 8

Thurid doesn't stay entirely still as she is grabbed- she rolls towards the man, trying to take advantage of his extended position to get back ontop of him again- but he uses her momentum against her, and shoves her back off, so all she ends up accomplishing is rolling over the top of him and ending up, once again on her back, on the other side of him. Thankfully the mask keeps her hair from plastering to her face, because she has a healthy sheen of sweat by now from all this rolling around on the ground.

GAME: Venom rolls sense motive: (15)+10: 25
GAME: Venom rolls cmb-4+5: (4)+5+-4+5: 10

"Two!" The referee calls. She's looking between Venom and Thurid.

Venom seems to have this wrapped up, tight. Holding the larger woman as still as she can, and, maybe reading something into relative skill, from within the somewhat more revealing mask than she normally wears, the silent one closes a dark eye in a wink.

Jeneura can't move, she can't escape. She's not about to tap out, so she keeps trying to escape. It's not that she's insane, she's simply run out of ideas.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-2: (4)+-2: 2

And wiggle room, it would seem.

Curiosity satisfied, Kira slips back out.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+1: (17)+1: 18

Tactically, Team Lurid Venom has the advantage, in skill and weight. Team Man Roar Jeneura might have more skill, but it's concentrated in one member. He should help his teammate, before she gets counted out. That would be the best decision.

Except he's stubborn, and sure he can pin first a Jotun that outweighs him and a human that's a pretty close match. So he goes for Thurid again, trying to lock his legs around her and hold her down.

He rolls into position and successfully gets a hold of her.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb-4: (18)+6+-4: 20

Thurid is left panting, her chest rising and falling as she catches her breath for a moment- but only for a moment, as the mans legs wrap around her. She rolls onto her side, to knock him off balance, and then partially rises, pushing up from the mat and then falling back towards him, slamming her body against his, reversing the grapple and ending up ontop once more.

"And Thr..." The fiery Arvek is about to count Jeneura out, when she's interrupted.

"Hey honey," A honey-sweet voice calls. Heads turn, her head turns, in time to catch a glint of light off the teeth of the announcer. He's beaming a wide smile right at her.

"Oh yes Lars? What is it?" The referee is completely distracted now. There is booing from the stands, 'Hey don't distract the ref', 'down in front!' The amateur event has a dwindling crowd, most of the remaining have a stake in it somehow. A friend, a relative, an interest in watching the untrained fight.

"I was wondering how we could kick this up a notch. Turn it into a Mud ring?" Lars, the charming announcer turns to face the crowd, "What do you think? Some MUD WRESTLING for these LADIES?"

The crowd roars, as does Man Roar. "Man Roar is not a Woman!"

"If you fought like one, maybe we'd be winning!" Jeneura counters.

Lars turns back, all smiles. The orange Arvek has eyes only for him. Her count is completely forgotten. He waves at the side mages, "one of your spells, a 'Mire' a 'Stone to Mud', c'mon, c'mon."

GAME: Venom rolls cmb-4+5: (11)+5+-4+5: 17

Blink.

Blink-blink.

is this conversation really going on -right now-?

The silent(mute>) woman maintains her iron grip on the larger woman's wrists, keeping her in place even as she turns her head to look past a shoulder at the person who really should be counting right now and gives a forceful, if slightly muffled, whistle to try and get her attention.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-2: (16)+-2: 14
GAME: Venom rolls intimidate: (2)+4: 6

"I'm up!" Jeneura shouts, "Oh you got me again!"

Well now she's cheating.

She also isn't going anywhere, and remains pinned.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "ah okay, sorry. then he'll try to get it back."
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+1: (1)+1: 2 (EPIC FAIL)
<OOC> Thurid says, "Transition to a Pin"

"Stop lying, the ref is to decide." Man Roar growls, finding his hold turned back on him, yet again. He puts a leg underneath himself, then an arm, ready to execute some elaborate maneuver... and fails.

Leaving himself wide open.

GAME: Thurid rolls cmb+5-4: (14)+6+5+-4: 21
GAME: Thurid rolls 1d3+3: (1)+3: 4

Thurid snaps out at Jeneura, too, right at the same time ManRoar does, "Have some honor!" she growls, her expression for the first time being anything other than an elated grin at the combat. However, she doesn't let the distraction keep her from her goal- winning this wrestling match! As ManRoar leaves himself open, she takes advantage. She bears down ontop of him, locking his legs with her own, and pressing a forearm against his throat- his other arm held against the mat. "I like you. Tap out." she grunts at the man, pressing more of her weight against his throat to constrict the airflow.

"Firestarter," Lars coos, making eyes at the Arvek, "Honey, restart at One, it's what the crowd wants."

And what the crowd wants, the crowd gets. Or perhaps, Lars gets.

>>BLORP<<

The firm ground and mat of the wrestling arena suddenly turns to mud, with all the participants in it. Firestarter is in to just above her knees, so it's not that deep. Except it's deep enough for everyone pinned and 'underwater' in it.

Also, hard to hear if they're tapping out. The escaping bubbles are loud.

GAME: Venom rolls cmb-4+5: (2)+5+-4+5: 8

Venom is somewhat incredulous as all of this continues to proceed. It really screws her up when she and her opponent suddenly sink slurpilly into the new bog. What grip she had is compromised by the slippery mess, and her attention whips to what lay beneath her as she feels jenny wriggle loose.

GAME: Venom rolls cmb-4: (9)+5+-4: 10
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-1: (19)+-1: 18

Jeneura has an angry retort for everyone that gets cut off when she gets a mouth full of mud. Feeling herself slip free of Venom's graps is her cue to stand. A mud-covered figure burst from the surface coughing and gasping for air. She's almost on her feet when she's swept off them again.

>>Sploosh!<<

As she lands in the mud she manages to do so on top of Venom.

"Rr... ah... ONE!" Firestarter calls out.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+1: (12)+1: 13

Man Roar wisely kept his mouth shut, although he was short of breath too. Fighting desperately he disentangles from 'Lurid'. She has an idea of where he is, as a wave of mud surges away and blorps.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Con check for not getting a proper breath DC10"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+6: (7)+6: 13

He's still conscious, for now.

Thurid was enjoying the struggle- but she's not about to drown a man under mud for the entertainment of the crowd. She doesn't put up much fight as he wriggles away, instead, bracing herself against the floor she pushes herself up, her front is covered from neck to toes in the mud, and it's gotten in her hair, but she worries not about this as she steps forwards and lunged both hands down into the goop around where that bubble emerged. She finds the lapels of the top the man was wearing, and with one mighty motion hefts him up and out of the mud. "Fool!" she bellows at the announcer.

<OOC> Venom says, "will stunning fist, nonlethal"
GAME: Venom spends ONE use of STUNNING FIST.
GAME: Venom rolls weapon0-4: (8)+5+-4: 9
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "hits"
<OOC> Venom says, "dc 15"
GAME: Venom rolls 1d6+2: (5)+2: 7
<OOC> Venom says, "7 nonlethal"
GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+2: (18)+2: 20

>Bloop!<

This went awry very quickly, didn't it? Venom suddenly finds herself under Jenny... and a lot of mud. She can't hear the count so much, so she goes by the thudding of her heartbeat in her ears. One of her hands touches the larger woman's side, fingertips discerning the subtle dips of ribs before the fingers snap shut and her fist thrusts into the ribs with notable force, though she doesn't seem to hit the nerve cluster she was shooting for. Still, ow!

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20-1: (9)+-1: 8

Jeneura holds on, rather than try to press her advantage she goes for her old standby, a punch in the head. While a good idea, the mud doesn't help, and she misses.

"Two!" Firestarter calls out.

GAME: Thurid rolls charisma: (19)+2: 21

Man Roar stands, with assistance. He doesn't attack, "This was not the Wrestling Match I was looking for." He says simply, his voice heavily accented, a little Myrrish, a little Jade Isle's.

"Man Roar taps out!"

Lars gives a little shake of his head to Firestarter, and she ignores this for now.

Thurid is torn, fighting two on one doesn't seem very sporting, but she's a cheater anyway.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "She has CMD 9"
GAME: Thurid rolls cmb: (11)+6: 17
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "you move her 10'. You could put her out of the ring with that."

"Nor I." Thurid says to the man, and claps him on the muddy shoulder with a muddy hand. There is an unpleasant wet slapping noise. She turns towards the remaining opponent, "This match is over." she says and... well, she doesn't really charge, more like stomps her way over towards the cheating competitor, making wet shlurp-shlurp noises with every motion. She hunkers down and with a mighty bellow she smashes her shoulder into the center of the other woman's chest and sends her flying backwards out of the ring.

Venom feels her opponent being forced off of her, and wastes no time slurping forward up out of the much, trying to draw a decent breath through wet, muddy linens. It kiinnnnnnda works, and the quiet one looks around furtively about the participants, her hands rising to a warding posture at least long enough to figure out what's going on.

The cheating woman is thrown out of the ring, landing with a loud splatter of mud. She wipes her eyes and gets to her feet, glaring at everyone. "What the Iron Hells kind of Wrestling Match was that? The Ref is completely blind."

"Three! You're out and Ring Out!" Firestarter shouts.

Lars leans towards the fiery hobgoblin, whispering, "Call it for Lurid Venom, honey. That's good."

"What?!" Jeneura, "How dare you!"

"Sounds like we've got a sore loser here. Would you know, I saw her kicking puppies as I came in." The blond announcer talks right over her, then doesn't even wait for the referee, "Lurid Venom everyone!Give it up for Lurid Venom! Clap everyone, clap. Lurid Venom."

"Yes," Firestarter finally speaks, boths hands directed at Thurid and Venom, "The Winners!"

There's something strange going on in the crowd. Those closest to the wrestling arena respond instantly to Lars' cheer. Others, further back have a more normal reaction, some hesitation, looking at each other, confused expressions. The close in group is really enthused and responsive, and their cheer spreads to the further audience.

Kudos, to the winners!

Thurid holds out her hand towards Venom, then, to help her up and out of the mud should she take it. She looks over towards the announcer. She seems to think for a long while as she looks at him. "As you like mud so much." she says, and then she sweeps her foot through the mud, kicking up a huge wave of the stuff and sending it his way.

Venom does accept the hand with a short, quick nod. She looks from her partner, to her opponents, to the announcer as Thurid decides to share the joys of mudwrestling with him.

The announcer is hit with a huge wave of mud! Drenched. He's covered in it. Dirty from head to toe.

And then it all slides off, like water from oil. It pools at his feet, but his clothes, his armour are clean and prisine. Magic! He's got the same kind of magic keeping his hair and makeup perfect. There isn't a spot of mud on him. His expression is one smug, satisfied grin.

"I do! Our Beautiful Ladies of Wrestling, My Everyone, clap for our beautiful, mud-covered ladies. So good for your pores."

"Firestarter, set up the next match." He commands, then moves away to deal with some mages. The orange Arvec goes around and collects the masks. She's only muddy from the knees down, but doesn't seem to like it much either, "Let's get out of this. You can collect your prize winnings from the box office. Thanks for participating."

Jeneura flings her mask at the Arvek rather than wait for her to exit the 'ring'. She storms off. Man Roar lingers, he looks at Venom, "Good fight," then Thurid, "Good fight!"

Thurid looks rather dissatisfied at that result, but her sour expression lasts only a moment before Man Roar speaks up. She offers him a nod of her head, as she begins trudging away from the arena. "And you, Good fight!" she says. She wipes some of the mud from her body, leaving splotches of it as she walks towards the changing area. "Now, I'm going for a bath." she says, to no one in particular, shortly before she heads into the changing area.

Venom pulls the leather from her wrappings as that seems the intent, and it does get a little easier to breathe. The affair with the mud is noteworthy, something to look at for later, she supposes, but first, she hands over the mask. With the Manroar's approval, she gives a little bow, then a thumbs up. No hard feelings, and all.

After that, with ehr partner up to get back to normal, she too slips out of the ring to get proper..... and maybe get clean, somewhere.

Quickly.

Man Roar likewise leaves! Man Roar will wrestle again! For now, the others do the wrestling.

And the competitions go on...

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Grapplers Mask allows you to attempt a Bull rush or grapple without provoking"

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "seems like strikes are allowed while grappled, but not before"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "So, the -2 attacking while grappled penalty is in play"

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Prone is -4 melee attack, -4 AC. Grappled is a bunch of minuses to attack and dex and stuff"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "Prone affects CMD
<OOC> Kira: bonuses and penalties to AC apply.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "You're bull rushing a bull rush, which is charging a charge"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "BUT... the +2 Attack and the -2 AC seems to only happen after you finish your moving, at which point the AC lasts to the next turn"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "so, since she's moving but hasn't managed to finish her charge she doesn't get the -2 ac, which would have made her CMD 13, so you would have hit."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "I think."
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "oh, wait, did you add +2 for your charge venom?"
<OOC> Venom says, "no"
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "okay, then you would have succeeded"
