GAME: Whirlpool advances the initiative order.

Round One - Init 22.

It is now The Hunter's turn! Poc is next!

The creature zips through the crowd, dodging throiugh you with nimble grace as the bandits try to flee, screaming that it 'found them'.

No doubt its after them for a reason, but you know, there'll be time for that when it isn't tackling oine of them and tearing at him wituh its long finger nails.

Round One - Init 19.

It is now Lysos' turn! Skribbles is next!

FWOOSH. Poc fires his arrow when the beasty emerges, but the frightening appearance of the thing causes him to jump a bit - forcing the arrow to go wide. "Damn!"

GAME: Lysos casts Shield. Caster Level: 2 DC: 15

Lysos stumbles sideways as the creature rushes by... not that it was /that/ close to her, but her nerves are on high alert right now. She manages to hold on to her crossbow, at least, and she flings her other hand up in the direction of the creature with her palm held forward, fingers splayed. "Defendarius!" Her magical shield flares into existance, briefly visible as a blue circle of energy, then it fades from view.

Skribbles raises a brow and says, "Reos' left nut, what is that!?" She raises her rifle, aiming as she doesn't have to worry about cocking the long bore. She fires a round and it hits true, Skribbles nodding her head once and growling, "Atta boy."

Nels scoots around to a safe distance, close enough to fire effectively, but out of the immediate distance. She shoulders her weapon, lets out a breath, and fires. There's the thunderous explosion that gives the thunderbelcher its name, and a tongue of flame follows the shot out, with a thick cloud of smoke that dissipates as it fills the air with stink. His shot strikes the creature, though it doesn't look like a telling hit. But she's already clearing the barrel and preparing another round.

Round Two - Init 22.

It is now The Hunter's turn! Poc is next!

GAME: Whirlpool rolls 1d20+9: (20)+9: 29

Edinaz curses, and launches into the fray. It's already got it's nails out, so he doesn't tarry. He just shoves his longer sword into the creature's side. "Stop that!" For all his toothy appearance, his in-fight patter could really use a ferocious edge.

A swift strike acr3oss its body sends the hunter reeling. It's body oozes black flame, the very negative energy keeping it, in a manner of speaking, 'alive' and animate, crackling out of it. It slashes its claws across Edinaz's chest, rending his armor and leaving him bloodied. It's wounds cut deeper than the claws strike, leaving flesh withered and blistered by thier passage.

Round Two - Init 17.

It is now Skribbles' turn! Nels is next!

Lysos nearly gags at what the creature did to one of the bandits, and just gapes at the rend it leaves in Edinaz's armour. She jerks her crossbow up, reaching for a bolt... then growls at herself and lowers it again and shuffles off to the side. She flights her hand out again, fingers pointing at the creature this time... specifically the black pits where it ought to have eyes, and she yells, "Razzle Dazzle!" A garish combination of coloured rays of light spill from her hand towards the creature's face.. to no effect.

GAME: Nels rolls 1d20+11: (14)+11: 25

GAME: Nels rolls 1d10+1: (4)+1: 5

Skribbles watches the man get ripped apart...and then she hears 'Razzle Dazzle' just as she's shooting. The look on her face that someone actually said 'razzle dazzle' in the middle of a fight causes her aim to go off and miss.

GAME: Whirlpool advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 10.

It is now Edinaz's turn! The Hunter is next!

Nels is shifting around to take aim from behind, not that it matters much. Hopefully she'll have less of it's attention? Another thunderclap and cloud of smoke, another lead ball striking the huge target. Not that a tiny ball can cripple it, no matter how fast. At least, not unless he can hit it someplace critical. Her hands are flying to her ammo bag for another paper cartridge, though, going through the lightning motions of her reloading process.

GAME: Edinaz RAGES!, gaining +2 to melee attack/damage/Will saves and 8 temporary HP

Round Three - Init 22.

It is now The Hunter's turn! Poc is next!

GAME: Edinaz rolls 1d8+7: (5)+7: 12

Edinaz recoils from the clawing -- sometimes, people just need a little negative energy in their life to get fired up. His tattoos flare silver and gold in the colour-spray's lurid flare, then he gets a little faster, a little more frenetic. He cuts down hard at the thing's arm, punishing it for clawing him, but his follow-up thrust misses short.

"Ahh! Run! Don't fight it! It just comes back!"

The bandits help their fallen comrade up, who'se badly bleeding from claws across his chest, and try to escape, running down the path you came. They're counting on you to catch up, of course... if you survive. This is what they pay you the gold coins for.

In the meantime, the creature is now engaged with Edinaz, clawing him twice more and rather viciously at that. His chest too now has gaping claw wounds.

Round Three - Init 12.

It is now Nels' turn! Edinaz is next!

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Lysos mutters to herself, then fumbles a bolt into her crossbow and takes aim. Of course, Edinaz is getting right in the monster's face... she jerks the weapon left and right, then yells, "Oh for the love of... get out of... argh!" At the last minute she has to jerk the crossbow up as it fires to avoid shooting Edinaz in the back of the head.

GAME: Nels rolls 1d20+11: (5)+11: 16

Skribbles winces as she spies Edinaz take two large hits, mouthing the word 'Ouch". She runs over, grabbing her hammer as she does. Even before she gets there she is already asking for Reos' blessing, her eyes filling with the fires of the Great Forge. She places her hand on Edinaz, releasing the blessing. Instead of it being hot with the fire of the Forge, it is surprisingly cool.

Nels fires again, the smoke cloud getting pretty thick as she moves for her best shot. Sadly, the moving around spoiled her aim, and her shot was only glancing. She frantically reloads as she works out how to get a better shot in.

Skribbles hasn't settled into a proper stance yet as she takes aim with her Dragonspitter. The aim is true, it's just aimed at a poor spot and it basically nicks the creature...sort of like an ant bite to the back of the elbow.

Lysos reaches for another bolt.. then gives up on that. With all the moving the monster and Edinaz are doing, she's just as likely to hit the oruch as she is the monster. Which, if history has proven anything, is not very likely at all in either case. So instead she scrambles forward, doing what she can to avoid being hit by any backswings, and somehow manages to briefly place her hand on his back. "Fortunas."

Nels shoulders the thunderbelcher and fires again, the thundrous report of the firing belying the poor hit that she strikes, barely a flesh wound. Hopefully they're accumulating, but it's not super heartening to only be able to strike these weak shots. If only it would stop moving around so she could get a better shot.

Timestop by Whirlpool has left.

...with the creature dropped, the bandits are holelring at you, "COme on! GEt moving! It gets back up, no matter how hard you kill it!"

Indeed, it's already regenerating. This leads to putting it down again, quickly, but... it's not like you can stick around to do more forever.

"Well, that's just not fair," Lysos complains... but as she complains she's definitely backing away from it, back towards the trail leading back to Alexandria.

If it gets back up again, Nels will shoot it again. It's a pretty straightforward proposition, and one she can keep doing as they retreat, though the shots get harder to make as they put distance between themselves and the monster.

Skribbles points at the monster, even as she gets her stuff, "Maybe we should burn it. Burning a regenerating creature might stop it, no?" She slings her backpack on.

"Tried it," yells one of the bandits to Skribbles.

Skribbles points, "Oi! You just start walking to Alexandria, mate!" She grabs her hammer and says, "C'mon, let's motor and we can report the creature to the guild. Maybe they know what it is."

"Maybe it's time for explosions?" Lysos asks, raising her voice as she gets further and further away from the regenerating creature.

Nels nods about explosions, and jiggles her ammo bag. "I'll contribute for a nice faceful of boom for it, though I think just getting away and reporting it might be enough. Our mission is recovering these guys here."

Skribbles points at the creature and says, "If you're going to do it, then do it quickly. It's reco...OI! I said move it, you garlic breathing thundercu..." She clears her throat and says, "Blow it up quick."
